Looking all but certain that our buddy Jarrod Sammut will be heading to Catalans Dragons to play out the year in the Super League after being told he wasn't realistically in the Panthers frame for 2010.
Not too happy about it tbh. He had some shocking games at fullback at the back end of 09, but I'm still not convinced that's his position, and he damn near won us some games single handedly last year coming off the bench as a utility. Reckon he could have played a role this year despite our increased depth in the halves and at hooker.

If fullback isnt his position then what is? I dont see him as the sort of halfback that can play in the NRL anymore, hes just not consistent enough. Panthers have just re-signed Luke Walsh who is an excellent player.
I dont think Sammut is bad tbh, just that Coote>him at fullback, Graham>him at 5/8, Iosefa and Kingston>him at hooker. So I just dont see a spot for him.

5/8. He's a similar player to Presto for mine, though not as consistenly awesome obviously.
I wanted to see him used the way he was used when he was playing his best footy. Coming off the bench to give either Kingston (who ME has said is not a 80 min player) or Graham a rest at the end of each half and terrorising tired forwards. He's also very good injury cover for all backline positions.

Probably because Souths lost to a team who looked to be in really good form, while the Titans were poor and merely got out of jail against an average Warriors side? Home ground advantage helps too obviously.

Yeh both of these reasons, but I'm still tipping Titans. Find with these games look to the teams that have the better and more consistent players in the key positions and I can comfortably say Zillman>Wesser (now at least), Prince>Sandow and Friend/Luke are about the same.
