Really thought the cows would reel the broncos in. Jt was phenominal till the set before kemp scored. Terrible kick with the game on the line. Can't wait till 730 tbh.

Have to say two pretty good games last night given it was round one. Thought the standard was decent in each tbh.

Saints just too methodical for our blokes on the night. They probably showed why they can't win it tbh. Can see them grinding like that all year but not being able to go up a gear when they need to.

Bad luck for Shackleton and Fien. Never like to see bad ones, but first round is even worse then usual. I heard Fien's gone for the year, shackleton looks like up to 5 months - tore the hamstring off the bone apparently.

2/3 here, had a bad feeling about the dogs, had a similar feeling to manly vs dogs round 1 last year.

Pretty happy with that all things considered. First half was blistering but we let a poor Raiders team back in which was disappointing. Flash missing a kick was disappointing too

Big round for big A Purtell taking a speccie off Vidots fingers for a length of the field intercept. Won my heart he has. Had a really good game, and I'm happy to be proven wrong about him.

The sound of 48000 people screaming as Denan Kemp ran down the sideline with 5 minutes to go was ear blowing, I haven't heard anything as loud in my life including a Baby Animals concert.

Albert Kelly gets the ball with 20 seconds remaining and then boots it down field to Luke McDougall. I mean WTF? You could at least try and put a bomb up. Cronulla showed plenty of ticker in defence.

Have been impressed with the general standard this weekend, Friday's nights games were quite good while Knights showed some heart and Bulldogs showed some fight. Panthers played well for about 60 minutes and the Raiders showed they will be a force in a few years if they can get some consistency, Josh Dugan though is a star NSW will somehow have to find a way for him to be in the squad for the next decade. Thought Lachlan Coote had his best game in the NRL since his debut match vs Brisbane too, he was sensation in 08 in the Toyota Cup but injuries and other such problems since he came into the NRL have slowed him a bit but he looks the goods now.
Didn't see a lot of Sharks vs Storm but doesnt sound like I missed much.

No you didn't. It was a very stop-start affair, with a thousand penalties, and just plenty of dropped ball. Barrett even spent some time in the sin bin. The highlight of the match was when Anthony Quinn elbowed Paul Gallen in the face.

Sometimes I think a guy with a pair of dice and a decision next to each number would do a better job than the video ref. There have been some absolutely baffling calls this week.

Sounds like Souths are playing like the millionaires they are.

Hope they go poorly. Never has a club had a greater sense of misplaced self-worth and entitlement.

Will always hear how league does well when Souths do well. It's craop. In 2005 for example, Souths were ******** and I think it was the best year of footy ever. And they have such wonderful, passionate fans - all 3,500 of them who turn up each week.

Biggest myth ever, Souths being "the pride of the league". Personally don't think they're worth a squirt of piss.

Glad to see Carney getting his **** together (I know its still early but so far so good).... The guy is one of the best players in the NRL when on song and i hope he goes well..

As for Soufs getting whacked... It was almost as sweet as a tigers victory.. Can't stand those over-rated pieces of crap...
