Apparently if Hayne gets a grade 1 he's right as he has no carruy overs.

Only thing Keating has going for him is it wasn't a classic twisting motion on the ground. Might be able to say the force of the tackle caused the twisting. Will need a bit of luck though.
Yeah. Reckon Keating's gone.

Been a wonderful game so far tonight, may it continue in the same vein in the second half

Lockyer not having any impact at all so far. Wonder will we see a reshuffle for the second half?

Weekend couldn't have worked out any better for mine. Parra through and Broncos gone. Just hope Hayne is cleared for the Grand Final.

We lost last night as soon as Ben Hunt didn't run out as halfback.

Still a great end to the season given we were all but written off after the 56-0 flogging by Canberra. We've unearthed some young talent and our forwards picked up their game at the end of the season. Positive signs for the future.

Tough to pick a team to go for in the final tbh.

It's good to know that Jarryd Hayne and Keating were cleared and are good to play in the grand final. Melbourne will shred us apart if they get too much of the ball, but if he starve them of possession then we should be alright. I'll be so pissed of if Greg Inglis explodes because to be honest I think that he should be in jail because of assault. Anyway, despite being a Parramatta Eels fan I'm tipping the storm to win by 4.

Cant see why the Eels wont win, they have so much self belief at the moment.
They haven't met anyone in such rampagingly good form as Melbourne are at the moment though. The Dogs, Dragons and Titans and Panthers were all looking vulnerable. Also you'd think Melbourne will do alot better at stopping Parra from offloading in the tackle which cuts out the dangerous second phase play which has been their main weapon. Not to say they can't do it, but I don't think they've faced a test anywhere near as tough as the Storm in their run to the finals.

They have fairly easily handled teams 1,2 and 3 who have been the best teams this season. Their defence has been incredible, if they can shut down Inglis and Slater (which is easier said than done) then I think they'll win.

I can understand Hayne getting off, but I think Keating is really lucky to get off. It's one of the worst Chicken Wing tackles I've seen all season. If they both get off so should Hodges.

Reasonable point, though who have Melbourne played? Manly were smashed, they had a week off and Brisbane were flat as tacks without Wallace and after their massive effort the week before.

Think Melbourne deserve favouritism, but I've heard every team the past 6 weeks say they were going to stop Hayne, stop the offloads and stop Fui. IMO the latter the most important. Canterbury did an awesome job on him early, but he just keeps on coming.

Don't get me wrong, I really fear Melbourne. They have the ability to capitalise on errors better than anyone, and their forwards get the job done. Jeff Lima is dynamite up front, Johnson is their Hindy, Smith is a great and of course their backline is even better than ours in terms of representative class. Our blokes just have to be at their best to have a chance. If they do it, an alochol-induced coma awaites yours truly.

I think Parramatta are in big trouble. They celebrated the win against the Bulldogs as it was the Grand Final. The only one who wasn't was Hindmarsh. Everyone else was taking photos with fans, getting mobbed in the first row and really acting like it was a GF win. Perhaps they've celebrated a week too early.

Fair points as well. Wouldn't dream of writing Parra off at this point either.

Just on the bold I think while Melbourne's backline out superstars yours 2/1, I'd take Reddy, Grothe and Inu over Chambers, Turner and Nielsen. Reddy in particular has been terrific the second half of the year.

A point well made by Warren Ryan last night was the Brett Finch leaving Parra for Melbourne earlier in the year actually benefited both clubs. It allowed Melbourne to move Inglis back to the centers, and it elevated Mortimer to 1st grade. (although Finch/Mortimer would have been far more dangerous than Robson/Mortimer)

Melbourne were immense the other night.

I think Parramatta need a really good start to be any chance.

Melbourne are awesome front runners.

BS, there was no way that was a chicken wing tackle so to speak, normally the defenders arm comes under the bicep to bend it back, that was just a case of getting it in the wrong position as he went over the top.

****s will win the spoon this year. Arseholes - at least have a go you ****ers.
Sharks vs Eels will be a cringefest when they play. Not looking forward to it.
Will be a nil-all draw. Both ****ing useless
Right now, if my team finishes 11th, I'll actually be happy :(

Manly? Who knows? At least they have Parra next week, so they should get on a bit of a roll now.
Bad luck for Parra yesterday losing the play-making genius of Keating so early in the game. I mean, what team wouldn't struggle when they lose so magical a player?

****s.
Keating is a decent player for mine. Certainly not the worst number 7 running around.
True, but to hear the players come off and use his injury as an excuse for the lack of communication in attack is pretty poor IMO, given he's only played all of three or four games there himself, and established players like Mateo, Burt and others were there.

The effort was there I suppose, but things didn't come off for them. Hayne was the best player on ground though, even in so thoroughly beaten a side. Should get an Origin wing spot, IMO.
****, don't start me on Lowrie. Should never play 1st grade again.
On the injury front, I see Keating is out for up to 3 months, and Mateo has a torn bicep. Wooden Spoon, here we come!!!
Great start Parra. Cordoba - ****ing useless. Sell him ffs. They'd barely get a squirt of piss for him on ebay, but it all helps.
Yeah the half back Robson is horrid, wonder if they thought a debut in the wet was too much for young Mortimer? Couple of the young front rowers look ok- at least they run harder than some of the established props in the club.

I can put up with them losing so long as they have a crack and are competitive.
Big effort by parra there. Probs deserved a win tbh. Souths will blow up re the scrum at the end of GP, ignoring conveniently that the exact same thing happened to us at the end of regular time.

Huge difference in the forwards with three hard-running props (Manna, Fui and the young bloke who debuted), all year Fui's been the only one to bend the line.

That dropped point might cost us the minor premiership though
We've got the worst team
In the world

Look mate, the conditions were appalling, and we had Robson at half back. Also, our best game plan of the past few weeks, namely "throw it to Jaryd FFS", wasn't availabel to us.

Fair to say Mortimer eased his way into his debut also, but seriously, Robson is gash. What about young Kelly in the NYC? Couldn't be any worse than Robson surely?
Meanwhile, Nathan Cayless continues on his merry $400K per year way, making 12 hit ups for 64 metres gained per match.
Listening to ABC they just read out the Parra side. It sounds like a Jim Beam Cup team with guest appearances from Fui, Hayne and Hindy.

Dire.
The slumbering giant stirs....

Hayne can't buy a video ref decision. Hometown Harrigan strikes again.
Shane Shackleton to Parra from Roosters.

Not a bad signing imo - hey, he's no Todd Lowire, but still....
Manly-Penrith game just about equalled Parra-Cronulla for footballing direness.
Honestly, is there a player in the NRL who has lost more mojo than Krishnan Inu?
Currently at Paraa Stadium with the family. $40 for 4 tickets good value, for what may end up a 0-0 draw.
The 2009 premiers weren't running around at Parra Stadium today, that's for sure.
Parra played well - lots of enterprise in the forwards is good to see. But I have to make this confession.

I have seen, both live and on TV, every Parramatta half back since John Kolc. Since Sterlo, I've seen all the duds - Marty Seal; Tulsen Tollett; Stu Galbraith, but this current bloke takes the cake. He's been **** every game he's played. Sad thing is, today was one of his better games, and he still nearly cost us the game. Good thing is, he slightly shaded Wallace on the day.

Best thing about today from our POV was young Mortimer's defence. Thaiday ran at him all day, and he missed him once, and on that occasion he knocked him over enough to have another player finsih him off. WD young fella.
God we're ****ing terrible. Looking good for a perfect tipping round though.
Jeez Inu missed 2 pretty simple kicks there and running in slow-mo. Can't believe how poor he's become. Kid couldve been anything 2 year ago.

Edit: just said he has a boil on his leg - might explain the lack of pace.

Of course, his leg's in pain so Anderson gives him the kicking duties. ****wit.
Cant believe I just sat through the worst NRL game of the season. Why do all the **** ones feature Parramatta?
You didn't see our game v the Sharks?

It's our brick wall defence mate. Frustrates the opposition and reduces their attack to our **** level.

Happy our blokes up front are at least trying to get some creativity going. Doesn't make up for none in the halves though.

Great start here for the offload kings of the NRL. Top 1st try there. Hayne heavily involved.

Now Fui crashes over as the juggernaut rolls on
Woo hoo - that's a good win for the boys there.

Comms banging on about the players Melbourne were missing. Of course, Parra are really at full strength aren't they?

Nice stuff for Hindy on his 250th. WAG.
The blue and gold offload juggernaut rolls on...

To 10th
Can't believe that performance from Parra tonight. How they can all give a **** now their season is effectively over, yet not try half the time when they're still in the running earlier in the season is ****ing beyond me. Their defence was amazing
Hayne's going brilliantly, isn't he?

Would have loved to have had a lazy ton on him for the Dally M in about May.

But this is so frustrating for a Parra fan. There were matches earlier this year where you could see blokes not putting in. Now they're what, one point out of the eight, having lost to each of the Roosters and the Sharks this year, and having drawn with Souths when the latter were playing like ****.

Now they're playing like supemen. ****ing ****s.
Where did it all go right for your boys? Is it just Jarryd's uncommon brilliance?

Miss your weekly "no fecker's trying" rants. :p
Ha ha Hayne just set up his 5th try for the night with an amazing chip-chase. Check it out. Awesome skill.

Brumbers, renewed effort more than anything, along with Hayne and a few young props coming in and bending the line.

Crowd on its feet for Fui - man's a legend.

Edit: Daniel Mortimer's kicking game as well. Finds the grass a lot. Good kid.
Even Homebush won't be big enough if the Dogs and Parra square off in the finals.

Aren't enough cops to go around either.
If Parra beat Saints this week, I will disrobe and run backwards down Martin Place at 1pm the following Monday. Won't happen. Saints too good.
Thought 2005 was tbh, but this year just got a whole lot ****ing better baby!! YEAH!!!!!

Titans to fall in two straight as the blue and gold juggernaut will roll on. Only thing which might stop us is a 5 day turn around after playing in that heat.

Word down here is Parra can't afford Luke Burt - I'm going to pay his salary if he keeps playing like that. Fantastic stuff. Fui and Cayless really stood up to Saints today, and Manna off the bench was fantastic. Mateo is an X factor but, as he showed today, can cost you a try with errors. Never mind, he'll lay on three next week.

Oh, and suck **** Manly.
After a one week hiatus, the Jarryd Hayne parade is back showing at a stadium near you.

Love you, Jarryd.
Man's a freak. Now I have to disrobe and run down Martin Place tomorrow at lunch time....
I'm quietly ****ting myself about tonight's game for the following reasons:

1. Our record vs the Titans
2. 5 day turnaround after playing in the heat, tackling our arses off and only having 45% of the ball.
3. GC are a good team - ran 3rd after all.
4. Everyone down here is just assuming Parra will win. Not through lack of respect for the GC, more because everyone is stinging for Criminal Element v Parra next week.
5. Parra have flattered to deceive so often in the past few years, I'm expecting a disaster.

I think we'll know inside the first 10 minutes if Parra are flat from last week. If they play up-tempo I think they'll win, but if they're even minutely off their game I can see them getting pumped royally.
3 beers in and the atmosphere is building
Woo hoo. Get that up ya you dirty Dog ****s!
What a game. Honestly, both sides were immense
Fui for PM.
Can you hear the Bulldogs sing?
No, no!
Can you hear the Bulldogs sing?
I can't hear a ****ing thing!
No! No! No!
To say it's been a year of contrasts is something of an understatement

Really think the Four-Nations tournament in Oct/Nov could have waited until next year.

We just had a World Cup last year FFS.

How guys like Lockyer, Thurston etc must yearn for a decent offseason to get the body/mind right.

Haha yeah that's classic. Not one comment off the mark at the time either. Crazy year for the ol Parra supporter.

Yeh certainly dont feel like I made an arse of myself by claiming Sharks vs Eels as potentially the worst game of the year as it pretty much was.
