**Official** NRL 2009 Thread

International Debutant
Think the Knights have a very good match up, we've already beaten the Doggies without Gids and I'm sure Mullo was injured and we put them away by half time. (Of course we let them back in the second but we held on.)

Now they're without Noddy and don't look at all like the doggies earlier in the comp. Loving the fact we play them instead of the Titans at Skilled.

*Quick little point* Newcastle have beaten all of the top eight sides bar Parra this season. Not too bad going into the finals to see we can beat the best of them.

Hmmm, very interesting.

Coincidence that Parra had nothing to play for and lost big? By contrast, in previous weeks it was sudden death and they fired up. Likewise, the Dragons had little to play for in the last few weeks (and lost), but had a top two spot to play for last Friday and won. I think psychology plays a huge part.

I wouldn't write Parra off.
If Parra beat Saints this week, I will disrobe and run backwards down Martin Place at 1pm the following Monday. Won't happen. Saints too good.

I still can't believe Parra were ever close to title favoritism.

Reckon the Broncos and Eels will be the first teams out. (hopefully I can get rid of this damn avatar)

Thanks to all who participated. It was good to see 18 people stick with it right through the season, compared to just 11 in 2008 :)

Well done Clapo! What was the final margin between first and second?? I really needed Sharkies to win, ah well.

Sorry, though I'd put the scores up as well. Edited in now, final margin was 3 points though. I had it wrapped up Saturday night thanks to the Rabbits last minute try, didn't think it was appropriate to let you all know then however :p

Ha, cool. I've just had an email from Sportal to say I've won their Fantasy NRL Team Based Game and an iPhone.

Only scunner is I'm pretty sure I have to be an Oz resident to claim it.

Sounds like one of those "good and bad news" jokes. :p
Yeah, just confirmed:

Note that prizes for Sportal Fantasy Sports Competitions can only be won by current residents of Australia and New Zealand only. Residents of other countries are welcome to register and compete in Sportal Fantasy Sports Competitions, but will not be eligible to win any prizes on offer.

Bah.

If any Oz residents want a free iPhone I could give Sportal your address tho...

Do you know anyone in Australia? You could always just send it to them and have them mail it through to you when it arrives. TBH, even if you don't, I'd it for you.
