It will either be Thurston at Halback Smith at hooker and Berrigan on the bench, or Smith may even get a go at halfback with Berrigan at Hooker.

Where's Matt Cooper? Who's halfback, thought Cronk was a certainty?
Cooper is injured, same with Luke Bailey...
Cronk perhaps a little unlucky, however i can understand the decision to go with Thurston and Hornby, both have rep experience and are quality players. Had Melbourne won the comp i dare say more Storm players would have been picked, including Cronk...

Gasnier is in doubt, i dont think he'll get a start unless Gaz pulls out or if Hodges or Inglis is moved to fullback at the expense of Hunt...

He'll be the first one picked :p

Nah seriously i can't believe they picked him, funniest thing i've seen all year. They must be desperate to win the Tri Nations.

Well congratulations to Brisbane they played very well and took their chances and defended brilliantly, but I'm still annoyed at Paul Simpkins and the video ref for some of their mistakes.

Of course there was the Matt King no-try call, I could see why he would not give it, but I thought benefit of the doubt would be used and similar things have been given all year; the penalty which gave Brisbane the penalty goal which gave Brisbane a 10-8 lead; and later on when Matt Geyer was ruled that he had knocked it on, instead of Justin Hodges. And I think in a Grand Final so those sort of mistakes shouldn't really happen. But I guess that's life, you win some, you lose some.

But that said I'm proud of them for not giving up and still defending their line even when it became obvious they would lose, but I can't help but wonder what might have been.

Best night ever!

God bless Brisbane.

I just love Brisbane - the city; the team; the everything.
If you want to live in a city that is running out of water quicker then a Brett Lee bouncer, then fine by me :p

It definitely wasn't a try. We were watching it with the sound down and we unanimously thought it was a knock-on.

Still a penalty, despite how unlucky.

I mean Melbourne should of had a penalty for the obstruction in the lead up to the penalty call.

Oh, was that when that happened? I didn't realise it was in the same play. Yeah, that definitely was an obstruction.

I heard on the radio that Lyon was picked as a back up 5/8 to Lockyer, bu Stuart. LOL got to hope that Lockyer doesn't get injuried cus i've been watching quite a bit of Lyon for St Helens since he signed for Manly. And well his no better at 5/8 then Gasiner or Inglis really, as a playmaker. It works for St Helens cus he get more ball, but their No. 7 runs guides them around the park.

if something happens to Lockyer i think Hornby and Thurston will still be the half/5-8 pairing...
