yeh i did, as i said before i can see he led with the forearm and definately deserved to be missing some games, but this is a contact sport and sometimes these things happen, 3 weeks would have been sufficient for me...
For sure. The judiciary look at things in a vacuum. They have no regard for the context. I mean, it's an incredibly physical game and sometimes things go wrong; players have a rush of blood; players end up getting lifted etc. In general, the judiciary is far too heavy handed.

Look im not saying the game isnt a contact sport and that i agree with how punishments are dished out, but if you scale this case against similar cases then you have to say his punishment is fair...

The game has gone soft, some of the high shots that are getting picked up these days are ridiculous, but IMO so long as there is consistency i dont have a problem..

Brad Meyers is another one signed by the Titans and they are going to target Craig Fitzgibbon if he doesn't re-sign with the Rorters (sorry Roosters) and Frank Puletua is expected to sign soon, while the Broncos better get their ideas straight with a whole host of players coming off contract in 29 days time, the Titans may be tempted to have a go (well they would be stupid not to offer a contract to any of these players) and the aim is to sign up another centre pretty soon as well, possibly Willie Tonga if he is allowed to negoiate.

Signings so far:

Backs:

Richie Mathers
Brian Carney
Matt Petersen (Steds and BB will remember him because of his afro and that he played for the USA a few years ago in a one-off game against Australia)
Preston Campbell
Scott Prince

Forwards:
Luke Bailey
Nathan Friend
Anthony Laffranchi
Luke Swain
Brad Meyers
Luke O'Dwyer

Got a forward pack (edit that in) and now a few centres are needed for a starting 13. I would imagine Scott Prince would be the captain.

Their forward pack is starting to look very strong. Which will be a key for them in developing a successful side. I'd say Prince will probably get the captaincy, but Campbell is a former Gold Coast player and played with them before they were outed, so he is also a candidate along with Luke Bailey.

Geez thats a small backline...

Laffranchi is a Great get.. Us Tigers will miss him a heap next year.. Definatley has Rep written all over him...

From my understanding Prince was garaunteed the captaincy..

I still cant see them being overly competitive in their 1st season.. It will take alot of time for them to gel...

Craig Fitzgibbon may also be a chance for captain at the Gold Coast next year. His form though for the Roosters seems to have really gone down over the past two years.

Craig said:
Roosters: Jamie Soward, Amos Roberts, Ryan Cross, Iosia Soliola, Vince Mellars, Braith Anasta, Brett Finch, Adrian Morley, Craig Wing, David Shillington, Chris Flannery, Craig Fitzgibbon (c), Ashley Harrison. Interchange: John Doyle, Anthony Tupou, Nigel Plum, Lopini Paea, Shane Shackleton (one to be omitted).
Referee: Ben Cummins.
Ricky Stuart will probably change the team, he seems to be doing it every week.
I would prefer them to play:
1. Amos Roberts
2. Iosia Soliola
3. Ryan Cross
4. Chris Flannery
5. Vince Mellars - the Roosters signed him this year along with all the other Newtown players.
6. Jamie Soward
7. Brett Finch
8. Adrian Morley
9. Craig Wing
10. Anthony Tupou
11. Ashley Harrison
12. Craig Fitzgibbon
13. Braith Anasta

14. John Doyle
15. Nigel Plum
16. Dave Shillington
17. Shackleton/ Paea

I know he plays for the Eels, but didn't know he was a seppo.

Although with League's national qualification system he probably got in 'cos he once ate a hot dog or drank a Budweiser. If it's the latter he's frankly earned his cap. :p

Worst move souths could possibly make was getting rid of Adam, they would be lucky to win a game this season...

makes me wonder about the merits of including a 16th team in the nrl.

i mean, if the 15th team is this bad, it's just stretching already thin playing stocks further.

look at their side, its not that bad, they have guys who have played rep football and been very good players with other clubs, whoever would have thought Hegarty would be this useless...
I dunno why the players underperform, but i dont think mass changes there are neccisary, Phil Gould should be the coach, then they'll start winning some games...

It's a shame to see Souths struggling quite so badly. One of the great strengths of the NRL is its competitiveness. Everyone can beat everyone else but the Bunnies being an easy beat weakens the whole comp.

I've a lot of time for McRae too; good coach and a heck of a nice bloke.

hes not up to scratch when it comes to coaching in the nrl, to me he comes across as a bit arrogant and naive. He gets asked by the media why Souths are struggling and he says the same old things, 'we'll keep training hard", "the boys are putting in", "It will happen eventually." He needs to start being honest with himself and make a lot of changes to the way things are done at Redfern, then and only then will Souths move forward.
