In which case, they should have been the first at rehab.
Yeah I was thinking that!

But I assumed he meant a recovery sessions after the match or something?

That has to be the most poorly presented news report I've ever seen Craigos :p

This is what the Eels official site says:

"ADVISORY
16 May 2006

The Parramatta National Rugby League Club wishes to advise that players Mark Riddell and Tim Smith have today been fined $5000 each for unacceptable off field behaviour.

"They have let a number of people down with their behaviour, and the Club will not tolerate it," Parramatta Chief Executive Denis Fitzgerald said.

Both players have apologized to their team mates, staff and supporters for their behaviour.

Coach Jason Taylor has announced both players have been relegated to Premier League this week.

"Selecting them in the team to play Penrith would send the wrong message to the rest of the players that their actions were acceptable, which clearly they were not," Taylor said."

Improved performance by us, and for that I congratulate the players and Ivan Cleary. No point in getting excited yet though. We need to put a few wins together and keep introducing the young talent at the club.

Thank god Toopi has signed with Leeds. I won't miss him. He should free up a lot of money as well...

You know instead of putting a team in France, how about putting in two new teams based soley on Kiwi and Australian players?

They could probably win the ESL.

Not really gonna help French Rugby League all that much tho...

& anyway, that sounds pretty much like Harlequins/London Broncos!

But seriously though, the obession of Australian and Kiwi rugby league players is akin to that of European football clubs have for Brazilians.

Nah. Sounds more like Bradford.

Mathers to the Gold Coast.

"We've signed him as a very capable first-grader," said Titans coach John Cartright. "He will be good for us."
What a funny thing to say, as apparently the vast majority of the GB team would struggle to get a first grade game over there and he isn't even second in line to be GB's fullback. Titans building for the wooden spoon?

Campbell, Carney, Bailey; Mathers; Prince and a couple of others.

Pretty good.

They'll have to be fairly active in the market-place, come July 1, though.
