That's well annoying! If I wasn't such a bottle merchant I'd have had a perfect round. :@ :p
Sorry, I've lost my copy of my English-Australian translation dictionary. What does 'bottle merchant' mean?

Someone who shows a lack of courage or conviction at crucial times. I think it comes from "bottle" being ****ney rhyming slang for "Arsenal" without the "nal" bit (:p) (bottle & glass = ****) & one's bum going in times of stress, like you may say you were "crapping yourself" before an exam or a crucial game.

Ok. I think I understand now. It's like a ***** or woose?

Possibly, although I dunno what a "*****" or a "woose" is really! Is a "woose" Australianised version of an English "wuss"? :p

I thought the expression "bottling it" was in pretty wide usage tho? Maybe it's just an English thing.

Yeah, I meant Wuss (you can never be sure how to spell slang).

Nup. Never heard of a bottle head before, might be known south of the border, but I've never come across it.

Ok I was thinking about the Watford Gap and where Cambridge is located. That said I learnt about the Watford Gap on here so I guess CW has it other purposes...

I must how good was it to see a whole half of footie and not have a penalty in it (Storm v Cowboys), unless there is serious offences where a penalty has to be called, that is how all games should be reffed. And what about the lead-up play for David Kidwell's try? That would have to rank up there as top 3 try's of the season so far IMO...

Smith quits as Eels coach
May 15, 2006

EMBATTLED Parramatta coach Brian Smith has resigned effective immediately, according to the NRL club's website.

Parramatta's board of directors has a scheduled meeting tonight, where a replacement for Smith will be discussed.

"I informed the players, staff and management team of my decision earlier this afternoon," Smith said. "In assessing the situation, it has become apparent that someone else should be at the helm to guide the team in future matches.

"It is a very sad day for me as I have given 10 years of service to the club, but my decision is based on what is best for the club."

Well whoever replaces him for the rest of the season (probably his assistant) could do no worse then him...

Jason Taylor will most likely takeover until seasons end... Funnily enough he is also leaving at the end of the season...

It had to happen sooner or later, He has lost the plot recently and IMO the players have been coaching themselves for the last few weeks..

There is a big move in Auckland this week to boycott the Warriors home game against the Tigers. We have been mediocre for too long, and the fans are sick of it.

I'll be surprised if they boycott, its not often the kiwis get a chance to see Benji play and alot of kiwis i know are looking forward to going out and seeing him play more then seeing the Warriors..

I had a perfect round. 7/7 and I picked the 12 point margin in the Storm v Cowboys game. I jumped up 10,000 places in the nrl.com tipping comp

Tim Smith and Matt Riddell have both been dropped to premier league rugby league next weekend and fined $5000 for turning up to a rehab session after Parramatta's match on the weekend.

At least Simon has got his wish with Smith now in reserve grade.

turning up late? Bit harsh to fine someone one to turn up to training/rehab ;)

Also, you mean Mark Riddell don't you?
