If it was anyone else but GC, he wouldn't be made to go...
hmm maybe, but the point is that the deal he had agreed to is official and if he wants to play in the NRL for the next two years he has to join the GC...

Well the Dragons have had significant losses to their playing roster but they probably have a few good up-and-comers to get experience for them. With so many player departures Burkey would next year be considered a rebuilding year?

To be honest, we could do just as well as we've done in the past two seasons, but I reckon we'll make the eight. Off the top of my head, our side next season should look something like this:

1. Brett Morris
2. Josh Morris
3. Gasnier
4. Cooper
5. Naiqama
6. Hornby
7. Head
8. Ryles
9. Woolford
10. Poore
11. Creagh
12. Sims
13. Young

14. Wicks
15. Isemonger
16. Leano
17. Payne
18. Chase

Still a pretty decent side in my books, though we are a bit light on back-rowers if anything. Also, Head looks like he'll miss the start of next season which means that Hornby will play halfback and Gasnier five-eighth while he is injured. I'm pretty much hoping that Brown will realise early that Gasnier should be in centre and when Head returns the backline looks similar to the one I've named.

Bottom line is, I'll be very disappointed if we don't make the eight next year, though a few injuries to key players could really kill us.

Yeah, he (Aaron Gorrell by the way) has. No big loss, Simon Woolford will do a good job for us next year with Young and Chase also around to play some hooker. However, I'm devastated at losing our Premier League hooker George Ndaira to the Roosters. Pretty sure he'll play State Of Origin at least in his career.
Simon Woolford is starting to get too old. While he is a good player he didn't play great last year for us and we had players like Lincoln Withers and more that could comfortably play as good as he did.

I think the experience he will bring to the team will be valuable, plus I rate him a better hooker than Gorrell and Young (I've always been a bit of a Woolford fan).

Interestingly enough every team will have one bye for the season but it is 4 clubs doing it at a time (going by the quick glimpse of the draw). I was under the impression there would be no bye's at all but they are handly for clubs especially when there is Origin (as it looks like it is the case when it is penciled in) and there are heavy injury lists for a team.

Although if a team is going for hell and leather out there and is more unstoppable then the time Garry Sobers belted Malcolm Nash for 36 runs in an over then it is an annoyance becauseyou have to stop and could lose your form.

Why is there still byes?
Because the season is far too long! And I think there is something in the enterprise bargaining agreement that the players can only play so many games or something. I also think the byes are for test match and orgin period.

I think there will only be four rounds with byes though. Much better than one bye every week.
Yeah. The first bye is in round 6 for the ANZAC test, then I think there are split rounds for the Origin period.

Just looked it up, no split rounds. Simply, four teams get a bye before the ANZAC Test and each Origin match.

Which is a smart way of doing it and especially on teams who have a fair Origin representation like Brisbane, Melbourne etc.

NRL's golden point under scrutiny

Personally I think they should scrap it altogether. I miss draws. There are some games that neither team deserves to win, either due to the quality or lack of quality of the game.
i agree they should scrap it but i cant see it happening...
So golden point should have to be won with a try i think...

Also the Warriors have to have the weekend off of the Anzac test, that would be criminal making them play two games so close together...
