Brent Webb who was about as New Zealander as Simon Jones is English (he might play for them but we all know he is Welsh)
It's the England And Wales Cricket Board that he's representing. That argument would be so much more valid if you'd used Pietersen or Geraint.

Preferences for fullback:
Inglis
Hornby
Hodges
Hunt

And Wright, I agree with Berrigan ahead of Hornby as the bench player.

I don't even think Hornby played that much at fullback this season for St. George, but you're the St. George supporter so you would probably know better.

He probably spent half this season at fullback and half in the halves, but the comment I made above was about the last four seasons or so in general. He was even picked for NSW at fullback once. So the idea that he could play fullback for Australia isn't a radical suggestion by any stretch of the imagination.

I'm not saying it's not. But given the fact that he has played the back end of the 2006 season in the halves and as a utility player and Hunt & Hodges have both been playing fullback and Inglis has done it for the majority of the season with Slater out suspended or injured it just seems that with those three options Hornby was not selected for the fullback position but as a half backup and utility player.

Read my reply to Blewy above. I say the exact same thing as you, only that I rate him above Hodges and Hunt.

Fair enough. That's your opinion, which you're entitled to. We'll just have to agree to disagree on this one.

That's got nothing to do with it, I don't care who he chooses to play for.
Ok, thats fine i just wanted to make sure that wasnt one of the reasons..

Hodges was fullback IIRC.
Actually Hunt was Fullback for the majority of the season which for me means he was the Winning Fullback.. Add to which Hunt played Fullback during the GF, just like Inglis will in the test..

Hornby was chosen as a utility, meaning he was picked to cover fullback, 5/8, halfback, hooker, and the bench spot. Seeing as he most often plays fullback for the Dragons, it's not that outrageous to say that he's my second pick of the possible fullbacks in the Australia squad.
So your saying he's your 2nd Fullback choice? Considering he hardly played Fullback for the latter part of the season i cant see him playing much of a role there..

If Hunt is injured Inglis will fit in, easily...

What? I rate Maitua and nobody can deny the fact that he was one of the dogs best during the latter part of the season...

I really do wish the NZ media will stop having a cry over 'kiwis playing for Australia and not New Zealand. That is getting beyond hypocritical when they go and pick Brent Webb who was about as New Zealander as Simon Jones is English (he might play for them but we all know he is Welsh) and Nathan Fien was only looking to play for New Zealand on a technicality when he realised his Origin chances were similar to mine.
Actually they're not. All the articles I've read over here have been about Australian players - mostly Maitua and Mason - refuting it. I think your media is blowing it up a bit. They like to paint us as a bunch of whining little kids.

International league isn't considered particularly important here, so the coverage has been pretty sparse. If we win though, you can bet they'll suddenly start paying attention.

He's my second pick behind Inglis, as I mentioned before. Will someone actually start reading what I write before they criticise my opinion? Makes you look like idiots.

Did you not ask me a question and did I not answer it? I was just confirming that Hornby was my second pick behind Inglis, as your post implied that if Hunt were injured I would pick Hornby, which is not the case.

I think it's mighty ridiculous what Lyon did to Parramatta, but Sterlo should just leave his disgust in his head. It's not going to do anyone any good.
