Great work from these two, a better combination than Latham/Young though those two did put on 150 in Kanpur last year (before India’s spinners turned things around). Need at least a hundred lead you’d think.

Great partnership so far. Had very high hopes for it and it's been absolutely delivered.

Conway a very deserving fastest to 1000 runs record holder for NZ
Funny thing about that record is that Mitchell could break it tomorrow! He only needs 59 so it could be a 24 hour record for Devon:)

Whatever it takes!!!
Yeah, I agree with @Zinzan here. Think Pak have been battle-sharpened after the last series and NZ maybe blindsided here.

Of course, if any team can regroup and fight, it is NZ in these conditions. One thing the old NZ used to excel at, is being difficult to beat. They may not be flashy but you always had to work hard to beat them. Pak could be disheartened enough to give up if that happens.

you know the results are in trouble when this line comes out for the first time in 5-10 years.

Crapinfo copying CW as usual.

Urooj making a plug for Sensodyne everytime the camera moves to fans eating ice cream in the stands. As 21st century coverage as it gets.
I prefer the tea ads in the crowd starring locals who drink it like they've never drank tea in their lives.

Surprised Latham only has the 1 hundred, for now, in Asia. Thought their record would be comparable to Fleming's.

He's got 3. 2 in the UAE and 1 in SL (plus 5 50s in India - HS of 95 there). Yet to play in Bangladesh and this of course is his 1st innings in Pakistan. Did well in the Windies as a youngster, but has a terrible record in SA (2.6! - not a misprint) and just 26 in Aus and Eng.

I forgot the UAE. Still not much difference between their average in Asia and overall average. Surprising given how good they're in these conditions. Fleming for example averaged over 65 in Asia.

That was a good review. Pointer to the dangers of hanging back on this pitch as the match goes on.

Feels like Conway has made a number of international scores in the 90s. Will be bitterly disappointed at not getting 3 figures.
