In T20 cricket its perfectly acceptable.pretty good effort really.
One issue I did have was Taylor getting out lbw to his favourite slog sweep shot, it's about time he completely erases that **** from his memory tbh.
Doubtful if Vettori is still in charge, Dan rates Jeets pretty highly. Think they just want Nethula as a leg spinner (isn't he?) to come good. No point in using another off spinner that won't get any spin in NZ conditions. The team for the warmup game.
New Zealand Invitation XI squad: Grant Elliott (capt), Craig Cumming, Tim McIntosh, BJ Watling, Daniel Flynn, James Franklin, Reece Young (wk), Darrell Tuffey, Tarun Nethula, Tim Southee, Ian O'Brien, Brent Arnel
Nethula being in the team must mean the selectors rate him higher than Patel now in test cricket?
So the selectors must rate him more then Patel right now then, and yes he's a leg spinner.Doubtful if Vettori is still in charge, Dan rates Jeets pretty highly. Cumming, Watling and McIntosh battling for the opening role. Pleased with this, these are the names I wanted to see.
Flynn looking unopposed in that number 3 role unless we throw an opener there?
Besides Young and to a lesser extent Nethula these guys are all playing for their spots.
I thought people were promoting Bond for the test team? Where does he fit in.So the selectors must rate him more then Patel right now then, and yes he's a leg spinner.
So Chris Martin must have the first place in the bowling line-up, I'm guessing it will be:
Tuffey and Southee opening (Best performace between these two will see one of them opening with Martin).
Arnel and O'Brien will bowl 1st and 2nd change (Best performace between these two will see one of them as our first change bowler).
Martin
Tuffey/Southee
Arnel/O'Brien
Elliott/Franklin
Vettori
Agreed, O'Brien and Martin are certainties in my view, and although Arnel's six wicket bag against Otago last week makes him an attractive option, O'Brien's international record and five wicket bag versus Canterbury must count for something.I thought people were promoting Bond for the test team? Where does he fit in.
Also I don't see why O'Brien should have to fight for his spot. He has been doing an ok job.
And I think we are giving the Pakistanis an unneccessary chance to get a look at him and his bag of tricks.
Any idea of what type of leggie he is these days, is he a big turner by any chance?Really hope Nethula makes it big. Will give me awesome bragging rights with the story of how 5th form me played out over after over from 7th form him without getting out. Funny cos I followed his career for ages after that and thought he'd never even make FC cricket.
that is just plain silly. patel bowled his heart out in sri lanka and this is the reward he gets. Just hope this doesn't scar him for life..The team for the warmup game.

Kinda like what happened to Pateltest cricket is not some silly thing played to give u bragging rights ok. nethula clearly isnt ready yet. if he gets picked and goes around the park a bit it might destroy his career.
