Some commentary on here about batsmen throwing their wickets away which kind of takes away credit due to bowlers. If batsmen employ an aggressive strategy then bowlers should be praised for exploiting that aggression just as the batsmen would be if they succeeded. I think every wicket a bowler takes is deserved - even if indirectly. For every slog that's been caught on the boundary or every ball that found the stumps from a wild swipe there's been even more occasions when a peach has just beaten the edge or shaved a stump.

Well this is going exactly as expected...

Now would be a very good time for some runs from Latham. His average been dropping steadily the last couple of years, time to step up

A lead of 103 runs, we just need to bat sensibly here and get another 150 runs to be a good chance of winning this series, 200 or more would be better.

Especially when several of the dumb wickets have come in the midst of some very good, tight bowling. You can't look at bad shots entirely in isolation without the context of the bowling in the period leading up to it.

Conway looked absolutely horrid against Bumrah's first spell on Day 1 so I'm surprised they're not giving him at least a couple of overs at him with the new pill here.

Close call for Latham. Decent approach provided they are able to dig in if/when the field spreads.

Good positive start from Latham and Conway, getting more runs on the board ASAP and deflating the Indian bowlers.
