Nehra is a Liability. Someone please get this guy out of Indian team and dont bring him in until he learns how to field.

Just sitting here looking at the series stats... did they mix up James and Hamish Marshall at some point? Maybe they just sent out the wrong twin.

44.3 Harbhajan to Astle, SIX!!, gets down and sweeps it over midwicket, that should be decisive, brings up the CENTURY!! for Astle!
:)!

EDIT: Two fours off Harbhajan by Vincent followed that, putting NZ into an easy winning position.

New Zealand: 256/4 (45.3 Ovs)
N Astle 105(125)
L Vincent* 22(25)

New Zealand need 21 runs in 26 balls

Notably, the pace bowlers will be on show again now. Three overs of them - well, provided they last that long.

New Zealand need 19 runs in 24 balls

Even Ganguly doesn't trust them...continues with Yuvraj.

India's pace attack is a joke. An absolute joke.

Oh well, another final win goes begging. Good performances by Sehwag and Kaif are the only plus points really. Hopefully Kaif has that number 3 spot for a while now in ODIs.

Great knock from Astle. Absolutely brilliant innings.

i don't know about those plus points, if they continue to perform consistently it will be a positive but just a couple of good performances don't really show me anything given how inconsistent this team has been recently....

More than the bowling, it's India's fielding which is a joke. Nehra, Raina, Bhajji are really hopeless.

Sehwag with the bat yes, you are correct. However considering India could have been done in 40 overs today the way our pace bowlers were going, which would have been embarassing, I think Sehwag's performance with the ball was good to see.

For Kaif to be consistent, he has to actually be given significant time to bat in a specific position. If he plays plenty of matches at 3, and fails, then fine. But until then he's done nothing wrong and we can't judge him based on his past performances considering he's batted at 3-4 and other times at 6-7. He's not a lower order hitter, and the NWS final completely distorted many people's views on him as a player. In that game he did come out at 7, but he had ample time to get India over the line. When he comes in with 6 overs remaining he's clueless, and his talent isn't being utilised.

I'd like to see Kaif at 3 for many matches to come. I think he has what it takes to be successful. Our pacers on the other hand...

Lol, not for me. I still get p*ssed off and vent my frustrations either on this board, or to my mates and family.

agree...looks like kaif is coming of age...and his fielding is always a plus...as for our pacers, we have three who are clearly the 2nd, 3rd and 4th coming of akram and one who is seen as the next generation mcgrath, what more do you need...? :p
