All up, I can't help but hurt for Jeets. Should've finished the day with 4/50 instead of 1/60.

I really wish Taylor would put a 3rd slip in. That one didn't carry, but others will, and the new ball won't swing for long.
Mmm, plus a square leg instead of deep square like comms keep saying.

Anyway, slight advantage India but we did ok. Still expect Ashwin to score a century tomorrow though.

Yep, and wtf is he doing with a cover sweeper for Martin to Pujara 10 minutes before stumps with a brand new ball!??

India's perpetual 12th man N Oudrs compensating for the selection of Raina then, will see plenty more of them throughout the series no doubt.

NZ's selection of Martin is so depressing. Really is.

Took me a while to figure out what that was saying. Silly of the BCCI not to include it but unsure how it benefits India more than other teams.

Oh ffs ross!!! :@:@:@:@
He's having a 'mare.
Can't really blame Taylor for that catch off Jeets, but he has been horrible today. His field settings and bowling changes have left a lot to be desired.

And now Kane is "bowling" to a new batsman to allow him to get his eye in. FFS.
This is just giving up free runs at the moment. This whole passage of play is starting to make me really dislike Taylor as a captain.

Taylor's poor catching and even worse captaincy is really starting to hurt. I've never been a fan of his captaincy, but it seems to be getting worse, not better.

Didn't get to watch any of the game but it's good to see Pujara get a hundred and solidify his place. Also good to see a substantial partnership between Kohli and Pujara; it may well be as important for India in the next decade as Tendulkar-Dravid has been in the last.

Well played Pujara! Easily my favourite among the young Indian batsmen. Would love it if he goes big with this innings. Slightly disappointed with the score considering how many wickets we threw away. Would have been great to have Kohli and Pujara last the day.

Which catch do you attribute to Taylor? The one off Bracewell was van Wyk's all day long. The other one touched van Wyk's gloves and was simply too fine.

Van Wyk is a very average keeper. Reece Young got slated for missing Clarke, simply because he went on to make a lot of runs. Van Wyk has missed a couple down that right hand channel but no one notices.

Disagree the first catch off Patel was too fine - not a dolly but should have taken that every day of the week. And missing the low chance off Dhoni was crucial too - a 50/50 catch but someone like Fleming probably would have taken it. That could hurt today.

Yeah Van Wyk wasn't impressive but when your other keeper on tour is Watling it's a bit of a moot point. Hard to see Young getting another chance when there are three other contenders. If the best keeper in the country is McCullum and the second best is Young, who's third - De Boorder?

Fair enough - we're all entitled to our opinion. To me, for an off-spinner bowling to a right-hander on a slowish pitch, you're always square. You're probably there for a forward prod to one that doesn't spin. The edge hit van Wyk's gloves so it was very fine. I didn't see the Dhoni one so I can't comment.

And the other one, any good keeper gets gloves on that. It's not van Wyk's fault he's 4 foot but it's detrimental to our cordon. We could cover a lot more ground with a better keeper. The half chances to 2.5/3rd slip can be caught by Guptill and Taylor can be more confident about what is his. At the moment he's got absolutely nil clue and nil combination with van Wyk.

It is a moot point as far as this series is concerned but not going forward. And Young is not out of the question if he takes the gloves for Auckland. De Boorder now also becomes a very serious option.

And how did Martin bowl? I'm sure the usual 'drop the old man' knives were out again seeing he didn't take a big of wickets - yet took no more or less than anyone else.
