*Official* New Zealand in India 2010

That better not be true, my exams finish on the second and I was hoping to spend a decent amount of the start of my holidays watching the cricket...
I had always thought Sky and New Zealand cricket had some sort of deal to show all cricket New Zealand was involved in. Obviously not though.

Sky doesn't look as though they'll be showing this series at all :@ The new Skywatch turned up today and there isn't a mention of this series in the sports preview section (the ashes, Sri Lanka's tour of Australia is all there) It isn't in the scheduling either.
You gotta be ****ing kidding me.

I'm now sending an abusive email to sky.

Tbh it was probably too expensive to buy the footage of the Indian networks. You'd imagine they'd charge through the roof and well, with our recent performance Joe Talkback Listener might not watch so perhaps Sky have decided it's a waste of dollars?

Though you'd imagine they'll get such a huge profit from the Rugby World Cup next year it would be rendered irrelevant, but that's the modern world.

Possibly. Yet just over the past couple of years they've shelled out big bucks to show the IPL and CL when you can bet hardly anyone in New Zealand actually gives a rats about it.

Especially given the times they've been on tv.

When was the last time that a cricket match involving New Zealand wasn't shown here? Personally I can't remember any...

The thing is we aren't playing some no name team, we are playing the number 1 ranked team in the World...I can't even remember the last time we had a series in India. It's piss poor if it isn't shown.

I'm sure Sky will be showing the tests - maybe they're still in negotiations, or maybe they're waiting for time confirmations. Just calm yourselves, princesses.

I can't imagine the rights were that expensive to be honest - over here it was picked up by a terrestrial channel and put on an obscure channel they broadcast on, so they wouldn't have done it if it was expensive.

I think that New Zealands main issue in playing on sub-continental wickets is the amount of purchase off the pitch that the quality spin bowlers from the sub-continent. I think that more coaching needs to be put in place for our batsmen around the area of responsibly playing spin.

Genuine prospect, but still learning how to bowl when it's not swinging or seaming.

Only 21 or so so plenty of time left.
Fair call he is at his best when the ball is doing something.

I was trying to think of the worlds best bowlers when the ball is older and not yet reversing. Johnson comes to mind. He is quick enough to ask questions with his pace alone.

Sky TV said:
We were still in negotiations for rights of their tour hence why it is not listed in November's SKY Watch as it is printed 6 weeks in advance. We have just scheduled them in and the 1st Test will be airing on Sports 1 Thursday the 4th LIVE from 4:45pm. Please continue checking the EPG (electronic programming guide) to confirm any changes and updates.
Yay!

See? Maybe, just maybe, those of us in the television industry have half a clue?

(I got lucky on this one....)

Must say I'm a bit surprised that the Skywatch is printed such a long time in advance.
