It was not an insult.

Just what I thought of his idea, not the person.
Hard Harry has a point.

Even if it wasn't aimed at Richard, it looks that way and quite simply doesn't have a place.

So you don't need to read reports or see it to know that.

Either you're psychic or you're taking a stab in the dark...
No, I just watch videos or listen to oral comments.
Writte reports are a last-resort if you can't find-out what you want to from either of the above.

If you feel strongly about it then use the 'Report Post' function in the bottom right.

Not all of the posts can be read by moderators so use that. That's goes for anyone who feels something is unsuitable.

Who does everyone think is going to open the bowling for both sides? Ideally and realistically?

Which will have more talent with the new ball. I'm interested to see if Anderson can do what he did last summer without burning out like he did.

Watching videos is seeing it.

However Videos will not cover a whole 30 hour match, so there is bound to be editting - any suggestions as to what might be editted out?

No, no, not complaining about that - heavens, I've been called worse in my time.:)
I just object to anyone construing the term "***" as in any way insulting and hence worthy of censoring.
Let alone when it's just the first 3 letters of a 5-letter name.

The way I understand it Caddick could be fit by then.
I seriously hope Anderson doesn't open the bowling next time he plays Tests. In fact, I'll go as far as to say I hope he doesn't play Tests next season.
Nor Harmison. Hope he doesn't play and if he does, he doesn't open.
So hopefully it'll be Caddie and Hoggard.
For New Zealand, if they're both fit it will almost certainly be Tuffey and Bond.
Both opening attacks could be lethal if the pitches help. If not - Trescothick, Richardson, Vaughan and X, strap your pads on tight - you could be there a long time (if you're good enough;))

Dot-balls, leaves, blocks, straightforward singles, etc. first.
You mentioned "not reading reports" - how does that connect to the fact that watching videos is seeing it (or the fact that I am not psychic)?
Some videos are designed specifically to demonstrate that fielding was poor. Sometimes you get pieces done on the matter. Hence, having seen these, I don't need to read reports.
Anyway, it's quite hard to learn of the relative standard of fielding, when it changes. A dropped catch, however, is a dropped catch. That won't change over the years. No matter what you say. If someone gets to something a player of 40 and more years ago wouldn't have and drops it, the chances are he didn't have much of a chance of catching it at all.

Almost certainly dropped catches are left in the edit as they are "crucial moments" in the game and therefore interesting. I'd be surprised if any highlights package didn't include that sort of thing.

Hoggard and James Kirtley/Martin Saggers/Richard Johnson/Andrew Caddick (if fit) for England.

Don't be ridiculous.
How could that have resulted in dismissal unless something had changed before the shot was played?

I was asking if a french cut counts as a chance for your averages for the batsman.

opening the bowling for NZ will,if they are fit, surely be Bond and Tuffey.

Oram and mills will be replacements,as I doubt cairns is an opening bowler.

not adams or butler,Im sick of them being taken to the cleaners.

I think Butler would ideally suited bowling into the wind.

He did so at Wellington v Pakistan and bowled well.

Butler is ideally a Test bowler.

For long term, if we do get Bond and Tuffey opening up again in ODIs, Oram and Mills would be the change bowlers, with Mills possibly taking up the role as the middle-of-the-stages bowler with Vettori.

No, because a french cut only hits the stumps 1 in 10 times for all batsmen, apparently.
