Come on Rigga!!! if he gets a wicket he'll celebrate for 5 minutes like he did last time against Pakistan.

I hate to say this, but does anyone else in the UK get reminded of Marco from Big Brother when Franklin celebrates a wicket?

My roomie at college is called "Marco" for obvious reasons... Quite scary really..

does anyone think when franklin gets a wicket he has really scary eyes like hes about to turn into a werewolf ?
He does look quite psychotic, actually. And in his profile picture he looks like Wayne Rooney. He was such a nice boy in the VB series.

After 2 Australian summers with hawkeye you learn to not always trust it.
Yet some people on here want to use it for all LBWs - there was quite a heated debate about how it wasn't as good as people claim.

Seriously, where has been the much hyped experience of this NZ side in the middle order during this series?

That's one thing that has greatly puzzled me - the strengths we were expecting to see were that and Tuffey's bowling!

They just showed a stat - numbers 1-3 have about 1100 runs in the series at over 50 and numbers 4-8 just over 600!

Feeling a bit sorry for Mills, he really doesn't look fit to be out there, let alone without a runner...
Well, they knew Martin needed one as well, and they didn't have a 4th player fit!

I won't be confident of a victory until Thorpe, Butcher and Flintoff are sitting in the pavillion. All 3 of those batsmen have the ability to singlehandedly win it.

Looks like the fall of Vaughans wicket has made the batsmen decide to attack them before they get an unplayable ball.

England 79/3, and I am gobsmacked that Richardson would get an over, I wish I got to see, but they are showing motorsport on cable

I must say Chris Cairns is aiming to go out with a bang in his final Test at the ground of the club he made his FC debut for Nottinghamshire IIRC.

Test could go anyway, just a shame NZ could not show this sort of guts and fight at Headingly.

James Franklin could establish himself as a Test cricketer.

Tip: Don't listen to Bracewell's comments. If anything, he's trying to confuse the opposition as much as he's trying to confuse us, because pretty much everything he's said he was going to do has been a bit off. Starting to wonder about that guy.

Vettori's injury wasn't as bad as it looked, according to news reports, and he's already spent a bit of time in the nets. We'll see how things go.

I was actually referring to his comment when he first took up the position - re selections for the good of the team rather than individual considerations, no prima donna's or passengers, players needing to be 100% fit & in form etc etc etc...............

so far as Vettori's injury is concerned - see the above & the current state of those players with injury concerns prior to this tour................ 8-)

My confidence continues to shrink with every glorious shot by Butcher and Thorpe...

Definitely Cairns is bowling 2/3 mph faster than ive seen him for a while, i guess he knows this is his last test so it doesnt matter if he knackers himself out, Although it would also mean he cant bowl long spells which might be needed of him later on if england dont collapse.
Richardson was just given the one over b4 lunch to see what would happen, he got a nice bit of turn but it wasnt anything that troubled the batsmen.

ENG 108/3 - 176 required with 7 wickets in hand..........

NZL needed wickts on a regular basis at both ends to stop any player being able to settle into the innings & to stop partnerships - now Butcher is just shy of his 50, Thorpe is on 20, and Flintoff, Jones & Giles to follow..............

the question is when NOT if..............
