Hmm, I read in the Metro that while NZ were happy for Vaughan to do a runner for his new child, they weren't happy for him to return and bat in any position - yet it seems Clive Lloyd has allowed it anyway. Fair enough, too, in my opinion - I guess it's all part of the psychological side of things.

I guess the ideal situation would be for him to get the call just after getting out (for 150 odd of course) then he has the rest of the batting card head start so he wouldn't miss out on any of the action as such.

Good Luck to my Kent duo, although you are missing out on us killing the the "so called" champs, but iam sure you aren't bothered about that... you have a few Kiwi's to eat instead!

interestingly enough there isnt all that much movement in the air or off the pitch although there is a bit of bounce.
a bit worried about having both saggers and hoggard in the team....too similar.

well to be honest the conditions have been un-headingly like so far....there has barely been any movement with the new ball.
and hoggard just hasnt really looked good at all this summer.

From what I'm reading, it sounds like Harmy and Papps are having some good fun with each other's aggression.

No swing at the moment but the Duke ball usually take 8-10 overs for it to lose the lacquer on it and therefore it isn't possible to have as much of a polished/scuffed sides until the original lacqeur has gone.

Still not too uplifting though.

nope he was hoping that once the ball got about 10 overs old it would swing a bit......however it hasnt and hoggard continues to look ineffective.

harmison seems to be getting a little bit more out of this wicket than the other bowlers.....hardly surprising though considering that he delivers the ball from over 8 feet and with more pace than the rest.
