Ok....

Taylor is a stroll in. Actualy he could nip down to the pub with Jesse for a few days and still stroll in. I'll leave it at that.
I'm kidding. I prefer Ross Taylor more than Jamie How despite how ***y he makes you feel Flem.

J How and A Redmond opening...
J Marshall / P Fulton at 3
R Taylor
D Flynn
J Oram
---> tailenders including Vettori.

James Marshall has to be living under the shadow of his brother. How sad.

J Marshall with 11! Grrr.... He knows he can do better.

Just checked the scorecard. Great stuff Redmond top scoring.

But alarmingly, D Flynn continues his international career with another 1. That's 0 (20 20), 1 (ODI) and now 1 from this tour match. Break the trend boy! Another mute point, Greg Hay should be here shouldn't he?

And we are sending Gillespie home when he is getting us wickets. Mind you, once again, VERY expensively. What's up with this man, he'll probably be right up there with the NZ wicket records with his wicket taking ability, but why can't he keep his economy in check.

Southee's living up to prediction so far with scoring his runs with 6s. Cairns! I look forward to his ODI debut batting, it will be something to behold if he doesn't tamper his 6 hitting mode.

Man just had a look at MCC side. Is this a retirement XI or something. Apart from Ervine, Benham and Nicol the rest of the side 35 plus. This match isn't List A is it. If it is its a joke.
Nah, it's a beer match. Basically the equivalent of Lilac Hill \ whatever-it-is-these-days in Australia, except this is an 11-a-side.

Just a tour pipe-opener.

Oh stop it, name me a number 3 over the yesteryear that has prospered. It has to be the hardest position to bat in. Interrupted by rain to boot while he's setting himself. Fulton's 28 probably benefited from not having to slot him in at 3.

Yeah. ND players are so hard done by under the captaincy of a player from ND. Personally, I was pretty happy with Fleming's performances at number 3. Certainly, either Marshall is wholly incapable of performing as well as Fleming. I'd rather have Lee Germon batting at number 3.

Anyway, I'm bored of indulging in hyperbole to make it clear just how I feel about the Marshalls. Just as I'm bored of hearing self-indulgent ND clap-trap.

Mr Redmond:

"I was a little bit nervous at the start because it's the first time I've had the opportunity to play for a New Zealand side, but it was great to find my feet," Redmond told PA. "It's a great opportunity and the best thing I can do is keep performing and training hard. I thought it would give me a better chance to play for the Black Caps and I tried to work on my game and make it nice and tight and it's worked for me."

Oh, yeah... found-out Aaron Redmond was apparently groundsman at my club back in 1998 earlier today. Used to play a bit too, they say - apparently on 3 seperate occasions was found drunk in the bushes at 7 or 8 AM, then walked in and smashed 60s and 70s in a game later that day.

This was the year before I joined said club, however, so the truth of such stories I cannot 100% vouch for.
