*Official* New Zealand in Bangladesh Thread

James Franklin has been confirmed as Daryl Tuffey's replacement for the ODI series.

John Bracewell it seems went out of his way to mention Kyle Mills when discussing the inclusion of Franklin in the ODI team.

"We felt that with his capability of swinging the ball, like Kyle Mills, he will cause trouble with his wicket-taking potential at the top of the order."

Mills is clearly Bracewell's favourite son. With Hamish Marshall not too far behind.

Styris is really trying to stake his claim to remaining in the team after some disappointing scores in recent times, He is currently on 50* and looking rather exhausted from the heat. Fleming has just become NZ's highest run scorer of all time, passing Martin Crowe when he scored his 82nd run, currently on the same score, NZ 199/2.

yeah i heard styris had a minor foot injury, apparently he woke up and he couldn't put any weight on his foot or something, bangladesh is out of the game already you would have to say fleming was never going to miss out in a series against bangladesh.

Yeah...at around 60/2 we looked in trouble. Rafique & Haque Jnr were actually bowling really well but Fleming & Styris both played mature innings & the result is that Bangladesh have probably been shut out of this test.

disappointing about mark richardson though, he seems to be getting rushes of blood, i suppose it is a good thing though because he will be hungrier than ever for runs against the aussies.

Hundred for Fleming, but Styris is gone now. In a good position though with Astle, McCullum, Marshall, Oram and Vettori still to come, and even Wiseman at 11 is decent with the bat.

I don't suppose that isn't a bad thing if you have got guys in the tail who can wield a bat with some competency (Wiseman bats up the order for Canterbury IIRC)?

Wiseman has opened for Canterbury on occasion.

End of Day one score: 336/3, Fleming and Astle are in.
The amazing thing with the NZ team in this match is that all 11 batsman have a century in first class cricket (including test matches)

I meant in international cricket he does
no as you can see you said first-class cricket including test matches and hamish marshall does not have a century in either.

Who would blame him! Marshall hasn't put a foot wrong in ODI cricket so far.

I wonder if Styris will bowl spin when we are bowling, it will probably turn 3ft for him....

Hopefully we will see Marshall have a bat this afternoon. It should be really interesting to see how he goes.

He's played one Test innings and got 40*.... Hardly a disgrace thus far I dare say.
