tastle has gotten better with every spell which is good for him.

henry is such an in between bowler. his natural length is too short to be a consistent threat but when he pitches it up it looks floaty. he bowls about the same length as mark gillespie used to but with away shape instead of gillespies in shape that followed the batsman.

if he is to ever push for a test spot again i would like to see him increase his average speed by 5kph and hit his natural length hard. he's taller than gillespie and less of a shoulder bowler so i think his injury risk is less, and gillespie at 140-145kph was the best bowler in the country in the period between bond and the current trio.
He seems to hit the seam and moves the ball sideways when bowling just short of a length (missing the outside edge), but going slightly fuller to a 'good' length is exactly when he becomes floaty and no longer gets seam movement. Frustrating.

Short of finding a way to deliver the ball from a foot higher, adding pace is all he could do to make himself more effective on these sorts of wickets. Oh and learning somehow what makes Wagner's bouncer attack effective and copy it. Henry's bouncers aren't much chop.

CdG two away from a five-fer. Hope he can give us something to cheer about.

that's why i think he should go the gillespie route. he's 6 foot so he's tall enough. when he bowls his natural length 135kph is too slow to catch batsmen out consistently.

he gets natural variation to jag the ball in so if he's bowling 140+ consistently he's in the game.

it's that or he finds a way to hit the bat hard when he pitches it up.
