i.e. you were wrong
waaah

tbf I should have checked when his last appearance was.

Anyways; the way the commentators were going on about it was as if this guy had never played cricket in his life. If he was good enough for second XI cricket a while back and has fielded for Aus before, then he's more than just a random person sent out to field.

No he used to play grade cricket.
You're being a penis. He played second XI, a level good enough to play a few games with the current Test wicket-keeper and a bunch of others who are currently or recently played at the international level. Sure he's not currently playing FC matches but neither is it as simple a story as the Aussie team asking the masseuse to have a go because why the **** not.

You just had to watch him move, he was quick over the ground and had a good arm. Have seen way worse subs than him. Christ, I've seen current Test players who were worse in the field...

Another interesting dynamic created by day night test cricket is have the evening session sandwiched by two long breaks. Hazelwood has bowled 16 out of the possible 19 from his end so far, and he'll be able to bowl another spell fresh in the morning. Just another way the new format favours the quicks.

Sorry but I wasn't arguing that he should or should not be there. I'm arguing the view taken by ex-cricketers that he shouldn't have been wasn't an attack on the masseuse industry.

No its not. You can say he should be there and its fine, but it isn't an unreasonable view from various that a guy who last played grade cricket in 2008 shouldn't be fielding for Australia. If an ex cricketer feels like that I get it.

If he isn't Theo Doropolous he's fine.

Nor is it an unreasonable view that fat slug Hayden should shut his mouth about who was or wasn't fit enough to field for Australia.

Don't think we're completely out of this yet. We're obviously on the back foot, but if we can somehow bat through to near twilight we're a good chance to pick up a bag of wickets with the new ball under lights. Unlikely, but if we can bat through the first session then we're in with a sniff.

With Jono here, highly doubt Hayden meant what's being interpreted. He was just probably in shock as to why a non professional cricketer can just don some whites and rock up for Australia.

It was a bit dumb because he clearly knew nothing about the background of the guy though, but it's Hayden so that shouldn't really come as a surprise.
