I'd imagine so, haven't found any evidence to confirm that though.

I'd also say that Flem will be most impressed by his CD side's innings against Canterbury, posting 301 in 50 overs. Really deep batting line-up with Tim Weston and Bevan Griggs entering at numbers nine and ten respectively. Three wickets for Macca on his return too.

Meanwhile ND have just lost their first wicket with 60 on the board chasing 265 to beat Auckland.
Weston and Griggs aren't hitters so I guess they were pushed down the order in favour of the others towards the end. Thats my theory I have without checking the scorecard first anyway. :p

Thats the impression I get too but was just pointing out how far down CD can potentially afford to bat. ;)

Would swap Noema Barnett for another specialist bowler tbh, or even a genuine allrounder like Bracewell.

ET on fire. Soo awesome, Howsie to respond. :p

Auckland are just awful, that bowling attack of theirs looks pop gun like. Bopara 1st change

Easy win tbh, probably should of beaten them by a lot more.

Actually Boult's the twelfth man for the game according to the scorecard on the New Zealand Cricket website, so if he was in need of a rest I'd have thought he'd have the entire match off, including twelfth man duties.
Probably just got selected in the twelve and then pulled out due to fatigue.

Morgan, Bates, Hira are alright. Singh has barely played.

They do seem to like Bopara though. He's bowled in FC before as well for them and opened the batting.

He couldn't even get Fulton out LBW.
Correct, Diamanti caught him for five instead. :p

 Canterbury are going to chase down CD's score, good stuff. Happens when you're whole bowling attack is under 130K.

Canterbury chocked, typical  Should of racked up 300 easily against that bowling attack, needed someone to bat with Papps.

Lol shame.

Incidentally, some records for you.

Ewen Thompson | Cricket Players and Officials | Cricinfo.com

90 wickets at 25 with an RPO of 4.7

Michael Mason | Cricket Players and Officials | Cricinfo.com

147 at 25 with an RPO of 4.5

Brendon Diamanti | Cricket Players and Officials | Cricinfo.com

70 wickets at 28 with an RPO of 4.7

Also, notice how most of the damage came off Oram and Workers bowling?

The above three are good list A bowlers. Eat it and weep. :p

Oh and Brent Arnel in List A averages 30 with an RPO just under 5, just so you know. :p

Still doesn't make them "good" bowlers. Yes they have pretty decent records but a good batting line-up should take them apart.

...

Those records show batting line ups, good or bad, rarely take them apart.

And I'll add they pkay a lot of games on the renowned seam friendly pitches of Napier and New Plymouth with their long boundaries. If we're going to penalise batsmen for batting well there, I think bowlers should get credit for having top notch records with grounds like these being home games.

Decent domestic bowlers, nothing more. Ewen Thompson showed us that early this year.
