Cricinfo doesn't even have a DOB loaded for Abbas. Wondering if there's been a first class 100 by someone as young as him for some time in NZ
Mate of mine in the know was raving about this lad the other day. Sounds like a serious talent.

Gee I wonder who’s going to be motm in the nd v cd game. Well played to Bruce though, another daddy hundred to add to the collection.

Heaphy seems to get shunted around the order in every game he plays. He’s played a lot for CD A and NZ Dev I’ve rthe last couple of seasons and now for CD and seems to have batted from 1-8 in the scorecards I’ve seen. Not sure that helps with his development. Doesn’t seem to be a specialist opener and I’d rather see him at 5/6. Hay and Smith to open, Schmulian at 3 and Bruce at 4. Clarkson should be above Dougeh too

Also great to see Phillips knuckle down and bat solidly when it is needed, and for Thorn Parkes to get a decent score on the board. Man I love the PS!

And yet he’ll be taken seriously hiding down the order like he does. Be a man and get your ass up to four at least

Wellington has chucked a post up saying seven of its players are in an U19 training camp. Wonder if NZ cricket will put the full group up.

It has occurred to me that Joey Field has played at all this year. So, must have a fairly serious injury?

Googled it, in the forlorn hope that NZ had a cricket media, to see if it had been reported what injury he has.

I was very concerned to see this in about the 6th position in the returned google page:
"“Joey had a horrific accident out in the field leaving him with life threatening injuries ... "

Fortunately, it was an instagram post about someone's horse called Joey.

Happy to see Thorn Parkes getting some runs. He was such a stand-out in Gillette Cup and Under19's but just missed the cut-off for the WC. And kudos to Bruce Edgar and Wellington for backing 19yr old Muhammed Abbas. Now with a maiden first class century and half century after two games.

Nothing in the rules which says a horse can't play cricket.

His name is actually Thorn? I assumed that was a typo of Thom. Jeez I hope he never plays for NZ, the constant 'thorn in the opposition side' puns will kill me.

Great to see some proper talent coming through. I was actually surprised how useful Abbas' bowling was after his efforts with the bat. Could be a well and true proper allrounder if we're lucky.
