Otago A scorecard updated now. I've highlighted the wicket keeping options in the team.
What a ****ing scandal.

Should be blood on the floor at Otago Cricket. Someone needs to get fired.

You can put out a weak middle order, get thrashed, and still keep your job, You can't undermine the whole pathways and grassroots and disincentivise your most promising players, and still keep your job. Scandal.

I know that Chu was unavailable for covid reasons. That isn't the subject

It's the 5 or 6 local replacement permuations that were ignored that is the mystery.

I don't think NZC forced anything. But they are compliant in their sloppiness and laziness.

There was an entire Dunedin club game that was cancelled as a club couldn't field a team. As per ODT. SO there is obviously a covid wave in the Dunedin youth.

I was hoping for some details on the ignored replacements. Maybe Culhane is back at school and unavailable. Maybe someone like Tasman-Jones can play 'A' cricket in January when he has time off work but can't play in March. Maybe a youth like BWG or Cam Jackson has been given the lurgie by the young Dunedin unwashed. etc etc

Or maybe. Ex CD man Dion Ebrahim just phoned the first uncontracted keeper he could think of, coz, job done, no one will care if he is from back in my old 'hood rather than local. And NZC didn't give a ****. But I care, as it comprises the authenticity of the comp.
Culhane is 1st year at uni

Funny how Jazzy smashes it back on the full to the bowler and Randell takes a sharp one. Jazzy stands there hoping it was a bump ball but it wasn't to be.

Disappointment for the Benji Culhane and Cam Jackson fans (two ducks).

Ebrahim wants to make like the PM and become my single source of truth. Be wary of these 'grugland for the grugs' Facebook comments sections.

Ave has just been bounced out by Louis Delport though.
I recall Shane Thomson doing that to Sachin Tendulkar in a test match, so there's some good company in the 'out via surprise bouncer by a spinner' club.

Ha Ha. Ajaz making mainstream news.

But
Exactly what Patel was protesting remains a mystery.
shows that " Stuff sports reporters " (the writer of the piece) has never had the experience of hitting a ball and the ground at the same time ...

I mean, it's pretty obvious what he was potentially protesting, so that's a touch of work experience boy takes charge of the typewriter...but at the same time, it looks like a really straight forward dismissal.

Another average decision for ND to wrap up the game, that ball looked like it probably pitched outside leg. Lovely delivery though so I don’t mind too much.

Just had a look at the FB page, even ex-Otago player Bradley Scott weighed in saying Culhane or Jackson should have been given a run.

Nice to see de Grandhomme continuing his grand form. The NZ XI side looks good. Mix of fringe players like Clarkson, Macewell, rookies, McKenzie, Pringle, then Ross Taylor joining them for games 2 and 3.
