I'll buy tickets for the entire family to go watch that team every time no matter the results.They need to trust the young talent they have. It's worked wonders in other forms of the game, but they must be stuck in the "dad's army" mindset, that won them the comp a couple years ago. Fletcher has shown white ball cricket talent, so has Nofal but they keep picking Pollard despite showing he's not quite up to it. Hose, classic WTF import. He's probably OK but what's the point? Nofal offers a lot more than Woodcock with bat, probably equal with ball. Younghusband is OK, but I would back Ravindra. I like the look of Johnston, he deserves a call up over a average import like Hose. Van Beek injured I guess?
Would love to see (being a bit radical, but I want to see an exciting team when watching T20);
Fletcher, Conway, Johnston, Neesham, Blundell+, Nofal, Ravindra, Van Beek, Newton/Sears, Patel, Bennett
Funnily enough, T20 seems to be an old man's game when you look at the number of guys in their late 30's or even early 40's who have continued in that format alone.Also should be done with Jeetan Patel and not sure how they end up picking some of the players ahead of Rachin Ravindra a NZ A player unless he's injured. I can't think of any NZ A player currently not in the Super Smash or international mix. NZ Cricket has faith on the lad but Firebirds don't. Strange that... Unless the likes of Woodcock and Patel move on there's no hope for us to see some young bucks playing for firebirds in T20 format. I can understand if the older guys stood a chance in the leagues around the world but they don't. T20 is supposed to be young men's game at all?
But Wheeler got Munro and Phillips in his first over! This game might not be over just yet.Great day for Ferguson and Somerville.
tbf that’s a damn handy bowling attack.Too easy for Guptill. Wish CD had scored 150+ Would have been nice to see how Guptill steered the aces. What's up with the likes of Munro, Chapman and Phillips? That's quite a strong batting order. CD were lucky to see the back of those three.
