161 in the end. 131 more than ND's next highest scorer and 22 more than CD's entire lineup. Kid can play.Kelly giving all the CD A spinners a bit of tap here in Taupo ftr.

The Fergus Hickey one day tournament was held down there last week. Was generally a 170 plays 160 week. Pitches had quite a lot of life in them apparently. Not really a postage stamp field either btw.
I was hoping Zak Gibson might make an appearance here today or tomorrow, seemingly not selected though. Tony Goodin made it look like it would've been a good pitch for Gibson to have had a new ball spell on. Beating James McDougall for fun with some lift off a length.
Lord Munro's seat in business class to Bangladesh is already booked. Spot in the XI maybe not, but he's in that squad every day of the week. Top run scorer in the competition, changed his approach to being less pre-meditated and looks much better equipped than when picked previously.Munro and Hamish had the chance to bludgeon their way into the blackcaps T20 side last night.
Saw Kurt Richards in CA A, recall him playing one first class game back in 09. My entire knowledge of him is playing against him as a 12 yo (he looked 18 at the time), perhaps not as daunting these days..

Devcich looks a bit under the weather in that photo.
To add to the batting would be my best guess. He's a batting allrounder.Mark Chapman is in for an injured Tarun Nethula in tomorrows Plunket Shield game. I have not seen much of him, how did he get a run as a spinner over Vishi Jeet (who had a good 4 day debut last season) and Dane Watson (the u19 spinner a few years ago)?
Zak Gibson. From what I've been told (because I haven't seen much of him in the last 18 months) is that he will be NZ's next 150k bowler. He's played a few ND A games this season and only just missed out on the last contract for this domestic season. Good bat too. Was scoring club 100's at 15.National U19 tournament is under way. The U19 World Cup takes place in Feb, is in Bangladesh so I assume will be a spinner dominated selection.
I guess you'd expect G Phillips, Finnie and Clarkson to be bankers for the squad as they are playing senior provincial cricket. I suppose Leopard you would assume as he has been pretty dominant at national youth levels.
Any others to look out for in this tournament that posters have seen a bit of (not just list names from top of the stats lists from last years youth tournaments)?
Cousin. Good cricketer too, captained HBHS.Yeah not to be confused with Jake Gibson, a guy bowling fifth change for ND U19 today. He's also Waikato Valley though, so possibly a brother.
