Kitchen's looked surprisingly good with the ball this tournament for someone with four First Class wickets in 51 games.

I just watched the wicket highlights and wondered the same thing. The balls that got Raval and Munro looked quite quick. Sounds like he was quite injury plagued last season, but looks promising.

Barnes is a good height at 1.9m and the word is the right armer is capable of nudging 140kmh, which is brisk.

''I've never been clocked, so I have no idea what sort of pace I'm bowling.

''Not fast enough at the moment is probably all I can say.''

The South African born player moved to New Zealand with his family when he was 2 years old. He considers himself a fully fledged New Zealander, though, just one with South African parents.

Barnes has pace.

Not the sort of pace Adam Milne has, but he is quick enough to hurry good players.

He gets the ball to shape away from right-handers.

He has a deadly yorker, a decent bouncer and, in five twenty20 games for the Volts, he has picked up seven wickets at an average of 17.71 and an economy rate of 6.20.

Healthy dose of humble pie served up to me by Bob Nicol. Think I said after the first 1-2 games they'd be carrying him throughout the campaign..then he rattles off that score in the final, and is the Aces' 2nd top run scorer and 3rd top wicket taker at good economies.

I only saw a few balls he bowled against Auckland in the game at EPOO but he was high-130s. It stuck out because that's relatively rare from some n00b domestic bowler.

I think that was the same game people in this thread were complaining about Duffy's pace. Basically he was about 10kph faster than Duffy with the same radar.
