I went to Hillcrest High and Peachgrove Intermediate.

Sounds like you are currently going there - I doubt any of my teachers are still there. I was there some 20 years ago.

We always used to get beaten by boys high every year in the Gillete cup.

Is Wellington's bowling depth that low? Kuggeleijn played one game all last season for the ND A team, and couldn't even make the Under 23 team in the new year. He was in the B squad for Hamilton at certain points of the season too. He certainly has some wheels though, my ribs would testify to that.

He's a work in progress though, up until Under 17's he was a batsmen, he only started bowling in his last few years at school.

Wellington was looking at McKay, Gillespie, O'Brilliant, Franklin, Patel with Boam and Woody for the seasons bowling.

With a bunch of those on tour and an unlikely O'Brien it means we're missing 4-5 of our first choice bowling options.

Isn't exactly low in bowling depth IMO. Friday, Bowden and Lamb aren't the worst guys in the next tier and Kugglejuggle is quick. With a new coach in Welly maybe he sees something in the guy.

It's just surprising that's all, he's effectively part of your second tier bowling group. Even without Aldridge, Arnel, Boult, Scott and Southee; Kuggeleijn was still be behind the likes of Baker, Verma, Mathieson, Goodin and Hampton up here comfortably.

Good luck to the guy, he's definitely an exciting prospect, he's just incredibly raw at this stage of his career IMO.

Woah, small world.

Mr Thomas is still going strong, if you took history you'll probably remember him. Bit off his rocker.

We don't play Boy's High 1sts or 2nds, they play premier mens' grade cricket, usually match up pretty well with their teams a rung or two down though. How good was Hillcrest High cricket back in the day?

CD are going to have some serious issues with their attack this season.

It also seems like Wellington has managed to poach Craig Cachopa, he is listed in one of the Pearce cup teams. Though I read a report suggesting he might be in like to play with the Stags? Anyone know whats going on with this? Is it just a confusing of the Cachopa brothers?

Otago will have a pretty gun team slightly suprisingly, I think it may look something like:

Redmond
Bracewell
Cumming
Broom
Broom
Wells
de Boorder
Beard
McSkimming
Finn
Wagner

with Bullick and McMillan vying for a spot in the attack as well they may actually prove one of the teams to beat. Possibly an off chance of NcCullum being back to play the opening first class game too.

Wellington's attack is a bit up in the air and so are a few of the allrounder spots but it should be:

Papps
Murdoch
Brodie?
Elliott
Rhodes?
Boam?
Austin-Smellie
Houghton
Gillespie
O'Brien (if fit)
Friday/Burtt

A few question marks there but Franklin, Patel, Woodcock and McKay returning should see them have a team that could finish anywhere at the end of the season.

The injuries to the Dags have ruined what could have been a really fun attack to watch. They'll open with a few massive question marks left in their squad though, it's amazing how many bowlers are unavailable for them

Pinga
How
Todd
Sinclair
Patton?
KNB
van Wyk
Wheeler
???
Nethula
Milne (pending fitness but not sounding good)

The Aces have resigned Andre Adams, it will be interesting to see if he plays any of the first class stuff. Assuming he doesn't and with Tuffeh injured they'll be looking at

McIntosh
Raval
Crowe :ninja:
Kitchen
de Boorder
Hopkins
de Grandhomme
-
Martin/Singh
Bates
-

Not really sure if Munro will be in there or who they'll look to cover the injured and touring bowlers.

The Knights are Howsie's domain.

I have NFI how the Wizards will be lining up, Brownlie probably won't be back though.

Yep, it's Craig Cachopa. He's in the wider Wellington squad - not on a contract but is training with them. Not sure how likely he is to feature, I would say the likes of Pollard etc would be ahead of him.
