Pieterson was brilliant today one reverse sweep of udal was simply brilliant usualy that shot gets people out or just trickels for 1 this one wasnt far from being a 6! strauss played himself into form aswell

From a hampshire perspectave it was a shame they were missing pothas, mascharenhas and ervine aswell as pieterson and solanki stupidly got himself run out although the did bowl well with help from lewis. The 12 overs per side game at the end was great aswell with more piterson brilliance and a good solanki inigns shame england won on the last ball.

Geriant Jones should not be opening he did an absoloutly awful pull shot off tremlett off his second ball. Billy Taylor was great capturing the wickets off Vaughan,Flintoff,Pieterson and Trescothic in the second match a great day for him

There's none so stubborn as those that cannot see the nose in front of their face, to mix metaphors, but you know what I mean. It's similar mentality to the shopkeeper who, when asked for a particular item, replies "You must be the hundredth person I've told today - there's not much call for it around here!"

The 'experiment' with Jones will only end when they find a get-out clause. As far as Collingwood is concerned, anywhere between 4 and 7, dependent upon circumstances and the situation of the game, is fine by me..

Bangladeshi bowlers doing alright today, Worcestershire 97/4 in 22.4. Bangladesh's batting is the bigger problem though, will be interesting to see how they manage against Shoaib later on.

a) I just love watching cricket.

b) I really hope we bat first then.

c) Either that or that Bangladesh put up a fight.

d) I get to see Mortaza bowl again! :)

More, how is he coming in so low.
even though the only job hes proven to be capable of doing is finishing an inning?
the only way he could have batted above 7, would have been if chris read had been selected ahead of geraint jones.

England XI for today's game (Bangladesh XI not yet announced):

1. Trescothick
2. Strauss
3. Vaughan
4. Collingwood
5. Flintoff
6. Pietersen
7. G Jones (wk)
8. Solanki
9. Lewis
10.Gough
11. Harmison

Very interesting! Solanki as a specialist bat at no8? Collingwood at 4? Strauss opening? Dramatic changes for England, and an ODI debut for Jon Lewis.

What could be the logic behind these changes? I'm hardly one of the master cricketing brains of this forum, but from what I can see Jones at no7 and Strauss at 2 seems logical, but I thought Pietersen would bat 4, not Colly. And a specialist bat at no8? This is a very novel new tactic from England - what could they be thinking?

I wouldn't have thought that would be the order, and i doubt anyone below 4 will get a bat

The order that Cricinfo provide before the game usually isn't very reliable. Seems like a lot of batting though; GIles must still be injured i'm guessing?
