I think most people are genuinely happy for Bangladesh, though Scallywag made himself conspicuous by his absence. Brendon Julian looked distinctly uncomfortable after the match, though he should be, considering he couldn't pronounce 'Bashar' before the match...

That surely has to be one of the most exciting chases I've ever seen, not only because it was Bangladesh beating Australia, but because of the way they planned the innings; at one stage the RRR was 7.5+, but Bangladesh always looked like they had a genuine chance. It will be VERY interesting to see how the Australian players conduct themselves tomorrow, and indeed in their next game against Bangladesh.
It really was a very exciting chase. Oddly enough I feel far more elated than after any of England's recent results.

I suspect Australia will come back very strongly very soon. I think one or two of their players (I'm thinking bowlers mainly) have perhaps taken a few things for granted. I've no doubt riot acts will be read tonight. Buchanan is probably scouring his well-thumbed Art of War even as I type! ;)

Oddly enough, I feel like a South African during the 2003 WC. Nothing's going right. We can't even enjoy the luxury of easy Bang victories, like they did!

Okay did some one notice McGrath almost brushing aside a Bangladesh player when he went to shake hands with him with a stare.

Also, it was disappointing to see Ponting not speak on Bangladesh on their historic moment. Also his field placings, not keeping a few more players in catching positions and putting men deep in the circle wasnt the greatest captaincy I have seen. It didnt start with 10 overs to go. It was from atleast 25 overs or so to go to finish the match around when I started watching the game seriously.

Also a commentator (cant remember who it was) summed it mid Bangladesh inning summed it perfectly when he said 'Australia are waiting for some thing to happen than do some thing themselves.'

Also, not as many Australian posters during the last 10-15 overs of the match which I see from the forum posts right now as English and other country posters which has more to do than the time difference I suspect.

Any way, those who did post, took it very well. Guys like slowlove, jono..
As Jono said, it is very late. Anyway, if you look at the posts from the start of the game, you will notice that pretty much the same people posted throughout the game, and as far as I can tell, there weren't any negative posts about Bangladesh from Australian posters. Although, like Jono, I'm not primarily an Australian supporter, so my views might not be representative.

Australia better get things right soon. F**k who would have expected such a poor start to their Ashes tour

Atleast you guys do keep winning the world cup :(

And it would be damn funny to check out some people digging on India losing to Bangladesh some time back, specially Australians, whichever people indeed did.

If I'm Vaughan then I'd be delighted at this, gee up the England boys and get them pumped. If England beat Australia tommorow by a decent margin (say, 20 runs or 3 wickets) then the Aussie camp will be as close to rock bottom as they have been for years.

very true. i'm going to say that tomorrow's match decides the ashes. if australia loses, maybe even slighty, then england will take the ashes. god, that still feels weird to say

Inasmuch as I'm not particularly bothered if they lose. I suppose you could say I'm primarily a WI supporter, though that's purely out of choice rather than any particular association with the West Indies; I guess I just like the team. I'm a bit of a Bangladesh fan as well, as I (sort of) lived there a few years ago, and the players strike me as being genuinely nice people.

I used to be an ardent Australian supporter when Mark Taylor still reigned, but I guess i've grown steadily disenchanted with the team since then. Having said that, I will certainly be hoping the Ashes don't change hands.:p

Ashraful & Bashar's stand really. Although, if one were to be hyper-critical, I think Martyn & Clarke could've attacked a little more in the Oz innings. True you were 3 down, but you bat a long way down the order.

I don't think Hogg is up to the job either. At a push he's a 5th bowler for ODIs, but Punter must've gone in today expecting him to bowl a full complement.
