Watson is a waste of space in the ODI team batting down the order. Katich is a waste of space playing in his current role too.
Definately Watson should have really batted in the top 5 & Katich well even though i have always defened him i'm starting to have my doubts about him as the best option to partner Gilly at the top.

NW Bracken

Who are these bowlers? The Australian side is truly changing - and a part of me is sad to see the dominance coming to an end.
It is but Bracken is one of the best ODI bowlers in the world ATM while Johnson is improving all the time, but unlike the when Australia took the mantle frorm the windies 11 years ago, no other international side is stepping up to the mantle to be the next world #1 although England if they get their side fit could put a strong case.

Ha, i know its a good channel to have especially for viewing games from the sub-continent since Skysports as you know wouldn't usually show sub-continent matches unless England are playing.

I believe BSkyB signed a deal with the BCCI which gives them all of India's test matches (at home) until 2010, which is good news.

While Ponting may have been rather upset and has reason to be by all accounts he has to remember that he can't go whinging to the umpires for everything that doesn't go his teams way. These things happen and the umpires are only human. Pretty poor conduct from Ponting really, he should learn from the mistakes he's made in the past.

I'll happily cop the Greig just for the Bracken call if necessary.

Chanderpaul was really amazing last night. It wasn't the first time someone's gone crazy in the early overs and smashed guys like Bracken and Johnson around, but batting was actually not very easy early on last night. I obviously overestimated how lively the pitch would be by the second innings, but Johnson and Bracken got plenty of movement through the air, and Chanderpaul made them look absolutely hopeless. I remember Bracken in particular getting one to swing a mile and beating the edge, and Chanderpaul charged him and smashed him across the line off the very next ball.

Johnson bowled fairly poorly, but how good was his first over? His next 3 went for 37, but Wasim would have been proud of the first one. Most conventional swing I've seen from a bowler of his pace in years.

Not much to say about the collapse, though I do think Watson bowled well. He's not the sort of bowler who fills anyone with fear, but he's got pace and can move it around when there's some help, and he's more consistent than he used to be. His best bowling performance in internationals.

Oh yea it is, gotta check to make sure, but if its true my pops wouldn't have to pay for that channel anymore, but i guess it could still be useful.

I should have been fined yea based on the rules, but 100% is crazy since the ball did clip the bastman en route to being called a leg-side wide, so Ponting was right to be annoyed.
It's his second offence, that's why they fined 100 %.

Even whinging would be okay, but 'having ago' at the umpires, when they have had a great game (that was the only mistake they made all game) is wrong. I really think Ponting needs to be suspended if he continues do behave in this manner.

And no one loves the litte bugger more than me, after all he is a Kangas man

Ponting's conduct was poor.

West Indies middle order was even poorer.

That collapse was one of the worst ones you'll see. Gayle and Chanders gave the match on a plate to Lara, Sarwan, Bravo and co. 8 wickets in hand, around 100 needed at just over 4 an over should be as easy as you like. Ugh, that was horrible to watch.

Aussies are too good sometimes though, they can almost dig themselves out of any hole they are in. Amazing cricket team.

If he transgresses again, is it not a ban? - not sure on the code but that's possible...

If so, more reason to get Gary Pratt out there ASAP...

For Australia, McGrath was brillaint just giving away 1 boundary in the entire game & bowling superb lines & lengths
So superb lines that he gave up 6 wides in 9 overs?

McGrath was so much better that any other bowler in the match that it was almost comical - really a case of a man amongst boys

BTW, 4 of those wides came from one delivery
