Nathan Bracken - A guy who wears way too many accessories.
Mitchell Johnson - A punk who has a lip ring.
Both are B-teamers playing for Australia in this match for who knows what reason.
Nathan Bracken is not in Australia's B team. He's ranked number 6 in the world for ODI bowlers. During the Jo'burg game, where everyone else got pillaged, he took 5/67.

Good effort by Watson to be able to stem the flow for at least 1 over.... might be a big gamble with the batsmen going ballistic... but bringing Cullen on may work, more for the fact that it's a change of pace than anything else

Some of Gayle's shots have been ridiculously good. That slap back over Johnson's head was hilarious.

280 is an absolutely massive target on this wicket. 200 would be very defendable. West Indies won't get anywhere near it. McGrath and Bracken will be a real handful with the new ball under lights.
Hmmmm....

Watson and Bracken were horrible.

Watson has not bowled one ball on the stumps and everything has been wide and wider.

Bracken was well down on pace.

Gayle is an amazing player - basically a glorified slogger. Obviously has fantastic hand/eye coordination.

Only sense I can see in it is the fact that Ponting struggles against spin early in his innings, but you can hardly call Gayle a spinner.
Or part-time in ODI.

How was Bracken horrible? Easily could`ve had a few, Chanders missed heaps of deliveries. And then he went absolutely nuts. :D

Happy Birthday Bracks...

We`re missing Lee, Symonds, Hussey, Hogg, Martyn and Gilchrist. Sign of NOTHING. :D

Haha, I`m just angry about Bracks.

JONNERS! Huge wicket. Unfortunately doing what I thought he`d do - slowly start replacing Bracken.

Not even the West Indies could lose this, surely?

Looks like a good game however, shame it’s not on TV. Would not mind seeing Bracken and co. smashed to all parts.

Sigh, Watson not helping his cause here.
Selectors/Ponting not helping his cause, he needs to get in early to build an innings. Example: 3rd World XI game, batted low, but early wickets got him in early and played a superb ODI innings.

I vote this one for this week's Tony Greig Award for the Cricket Web Awards

Re: Katich, it's worth remembering that batting was extremely tough early in the innings. The bowling was all over the place and Ponting made it look easy, but Katich was obviously preserving his wicket for a reason, given it's a lively wicket and Australia picked one less batsman than normal. He does struggle with rotating the strike at times, but today wasn't really a great example of that.
Time to stop defending him. It's plainly obvious when Austrlia are at full strength and Lee batting at 9, they don't need an anchor.
