In other news Kings XI Punjab must have one of the worst setups out of any team. The opening combination of Bopara and Goel?

Sangakkara isn't the best at this format and Jayawardene is actually quite horrid at it.

Yuvraj as captain?

Compare it to Mumbai, the team just exudes class. Bravo may be the only odd man out in the teams setup in the need for a true T20 finisher, but his allround abilities certainly make him no slouch.

It's fine on paper but it doesn't really happen with this team. Their internationals, even the ones that are supposed to be good at Twenty20s (White etc) never do anything. I reckon it's probably the team culture or management or something like that.
Team culture was obvious when Steyn admitted it was treated by some as a holiday.

But Taylor and Ryder didn't play much. New players can make a difference.

IMO its always been poor team balance that's been the problem. Though White and Uthappa (this year) have underperformed.

Still see nothing wrong in Bangalore's decision to get rid of Zaheer (they already had Kumar and Steyn, can't fit all 3 in) for a hard-hitting batsmen. Uthappa is just underperforming, he's got it in him for this format.

Always thought he has potential to be the best bowler in the world, and if he stays fit he should be challenging for best seam bowler in world cricket in the next year or so.

International Captain
Ronnie Irani is possibly the most annoying TV Cricket Pundit of all-time. Really hope he doesn't get hired by Sky!

Mumbai chucking this away really. 2 of the big guns gone and massively reliant on JP Duminy now. Hopefully Mumbai'll be able to win it from here.

Ronnie Irani has been completely shocking. Really really awful. Why do we have to keep going back to him in the studio, can't we just stay with the normal commentary?

a day of upsets as far as I am concerned .... looks like K11 and RCB handled their nerves better!

AS soon as KKR were bowled out and my friend the cancer surgeon wanted to put the bubbly for chilling I cautioned him. Mumbai is too reliant on its openers and the day they fail, we will be exposed. That day cant be far.

In eight balls my 'black tongue' had done its worst.

By the way, at the expense of being reviled by most of his fans, I also suggested that the longer Duminy plays in this innings (in terms of number of balls faced) the lesser the chances of Mumbai winning.

Duminy in IPL has not been the player he looked to be so recently for South Africa

Hopefully you're guys are right but it's easy to say these things (this guy is a great hitter, this guy is a great striker) but then it just doesn't seem to happen with this team!
