also not playing worlds 3rd best T20 batsman! The world's best ODI allrounder not playing for KKR....thats pathetic...KKR have got their team combination absolutely wrong and if they continue to be rigid in their team selection...they will be languishing at the bottom of the IPL table.
World's best all-rounder, by KKR definition, is someone else. Actually, by definition of most folks- T20 notwithstanding. The world's best ODI allrounder not playing for KKR....thats pathetic...KKR have got their team combination absolutely wrong and if they continue to be rigid in their team selection...they will be languishing at the bottom of the IPL table.
Thier problem is who to switch shakib for. McCullum is the wicket keeper. Lee is thier only strike bowler. That leaves Kallis & Narine. Kallis has to play given his abilities. Narine is the one to switch with Shakib. Shakib should be the first one on their team sheet. Shortly followed by Narine. McCullum is a waste of time except for his keeping, Lee is a waste of time except if he actually gets a pitch that helps him and he bowls all of his overs before the death. 125-140kph when bowling a full paced ball, but he varies the pace a lot.how quick is cooper? looks pretty nippy given you'd expect to bowl at 120 the way he runs in. Gotta route for a guy called Kevon anyway.
Kolkata has an unhealthy dependence on Kallis, who's practically irrelevant in T20. Poor strike rate, coupled with a tendency to occupy the crease too long and too much, is pushing the KKR back too often. He can't bowl at all in T20. Lee, on the other hand, can barely bowl, and struggles in T20s. Why we still see KKR so dependent on them, we can't tell, but it's an easy guess that this team doesn't win much. Both should be dropped, and replaced with Morgan/Tendo and Shakib.Thier problem is who to switch shakib for. McCullum is the wicket keeper. Lee is thier only strike bowler. Shami Ahmed, Balaji and Shakib really need to be put in the team soon. They are all strong contenders for spots. Shami could be a good find of the IPL, rumoured to have good pace.Kolkata has an unhealthy dependence on Kallis, who's practically irrelevant in T20. Look at this XI-Four bowlers who can strike regularly in T20. A strong top six in T20. Three all-rounders who fit in nicely in T20, keeping the filler bowlers down to just two. Can't go too wrong with this.
- McCullum
- Gambhir
- Yusuf
- Morgan
- Tiwary
- Debu
- Shukla
- Shakib
- Abdulla
- Balaji
- Shami Ahmed
I think McCullum is the only keeper they have. Kallis has a good record of actually winning matches with the bat in the IPL. Lee can be a liability but he takes wickets, he is the only strike bowler they have. Those three are automatic picks.Shakib should be the first one on their team sheet. Shortly followed by Narine. Pace or no pace, Shami has a really good strike rate for T20. Maybe will work for the IPL. Much better than that Bhatia bloke.Shami Ahmed, Balaji and Shakib really need to be put in the team soon. I'd play him until it looks like the batsmen have a handle on him, until then he'll be highly useful. IPL sides need guys like him to take out the foreign international batsmen who will take the game away from you. The Indian bowlers are by and large fillers, guys like Lee and Narine need to do some damage to make things work.I think McCullum is the only keeper they have. I'm surprised that you think Narine place is almost guaranteed. Why do you think so?

Lee would be an automatic choice as the token overseas pacer, but he's rather poor in T20. He's gone wicketless too often in T20s, and it's shown- he's played more matches than he has taken wickets. Rather poor strike rate. May be a better option to gamble with Pattinson. Either of them is as much a gamble as that in-form domestic Indian pacer.I'd be inclined to have Brett Lee for the bowling on the proviso he bowls all his overs at the start, as that's where the balance is lacking. Plus he'll bat better than McCullum - but that's really dependent on any viable keeping options. You don't want Shakib batting that low, it's a complete waste. Gambhir should open (as he'll play regardless) and Morgan, Yusuf, Tiwary and Shakib need to be in the top 6.
