I know the reasonings, just think in certain circumstances it goes to far, with players like Pathan.

Nah I definitely think Pathan is more valuable as an IPL squad member than pretty much any international specialist batsman. It's a shame for many reasons IMO but it is true.

Yea you can pick up as good a squad of non-Indian international players as any with $2million if you know what you're doing. Paying out more for them will get you little if any improvement and they may not even get to play for your side anyway.

Good stuff from Zaheer, Vinay and Harshal Patel. Was impressed with the latter who was on his IPL debut. Speed at 130kph and impressive accuracy. Irfan Pathan got tonked; he looks in good shape and he swings the ball well but he needs to cut out the crap he bowled in his last over.

Zaheer bowled a procession of pies. I think the seam bowling generally aside from the odd over from Vinay was pretty mediocre.

Zaheer bowled a fair set of poor full tosses, but some good stuff. Vinay bowled pretty well, I'm enjoying his development as a bowler. He is very lowly rated among fans and watchers but I see something in him.
Did you not rate Harshal's two overs?

The batting was awful as I said. So Harshal never really had to do anything bar get it straight/at the body. The test will be when the batsmen aren't playing like headless woodsmen and how he responds. I think he'd come on nicely unless he has some variations or gets a bit of movement.
