Nice assessment Manee - remember that KP and Collingwood are injured.

I've tipped Bangalore, I'd say they could play another domestic batsman, have Dilshan bowl his full 4 overs and that'd give them a lot of btting depth.

Jono

Virat Kohli (c)
Is it me or do Kolkata actually have a damn good team this year?

I'm sure they'll underachieve again, but that is still, on paper at least, a very strong team.

We are living in an increased Globalised world where capital is taken from around the planet and invested where it will be most utilised. That is why there is increased immigration for labour, FDI's etc. Pakistani players with their skills are another example of capital. That is why it's a shame.
Pakistan does not invest in other countries. There FDI in other countries is virtually 0. It is the other way around where loads of nations invest in Pakistan.

And even though Pakistan players were not playing in IPL-3 and their cable operators had boycotted the IPL, but midway due to public demand they had to show it. Hence as per demand supply there is a load of demand there, and since the foreign players are in abundant supply it does not make much difference for India. And in the end, for India it does not matter.

Btw your logic of shame did not make any sense, you just tried to use heavy words to maybe confuse people or maybe you need to explain more from your side

Kings XI Punjab all the way. They have Gilly to lead the team. I think they are the dark horses of this tournament

Was Kohli originally named captain when Kumble stepped down, and they've replaced that position with Vettori?

Or was Kohli just rumoured to be the next captain?
Dont think Kohli was ever made captain. I dont think they had selected anyone before the auction.

I am just saying that a lot of people work in other countries for better income opportunities, especially people from the subcontinent. Here in the UK there are a lot of immigrants from India, Pakistan etc working so that they can provide for their family a better life than they would have back home. I think that Pakistani cricketers should also be able to do that. But if you think they shouldn't then fair enough.

BTW those nations that invest in Pakistan don't do it for free. They have trade relations with Pakistan, including India and they make huge profits out of it. One example recently was that due to heavy investment in the real estate industry in major Indians cities like Mumbai, India needed to import a lot of sand from Pakistan.

Was on ITV last year and I enjoyed it (ignoring the dire commentary). Cricket everyday for 6 weeks! I met a group of guys from different parts of Europe last year who didn't know that something called cricket existed before the IPL but were watching (and betting) on every match. A couple of guys already hated Sourav Ganguly. Flintoff is never wrong.

Wondering which team to support this year.

Will be supporting Bangalore this year entirely because I put money on them. I'm such a sell-out.

(Seems appropriate motivation for the IPL, really.)

Dave Miller Band last minute 100,000 $ recruitment for Punjab. Miller and Ryan McLaren replace Dimitri Mascarenhas and Stuart Broad respectively.

Good signing. Be good for Miller to get more exposure to quality spin and playing in the subcontinent.

I'm a Royals fan and despite our chances not being that great ''on-paper'' I definitely think we are the dark horse this season.

Despite not big having heavy-weights we seem to have enough players who can pull their own weight and contribute something to the team's cause and I think in a compressed format like T20 that's what really counts.

Miller for 100k is a joke, there are so many better players they could have signed for that much money. A bloke like Swann is still available and they could have gone for him, though I still find it funny that nobody wants a spinner like Swann in their team.
