So India's bowling is still awful, just we got a reminder of how good their batting can be. Or are West Indies showing signs of improvement? They have some decent young players, and I am impressed with (in particular) Gayle, Samuels and Dillon (probably the only guy who could be considered an international standard bowler at the moment).

India shouldn't have won this match. If your home crowd plays up, then you lose.

Simple.

It happened to India in the 1996 WC. Why was this any different? Sure India were cruising in terms of run-rate but who knows what could have happened in the subsequent few overs?

That would stop supporters causing trouble as the last thing they want to see is their team loose because of them...especially in the Cricket worshipping land of India :D

It's a tricky balance especially of the home side is winning well. Is it the players fault for their fans behaviour?

Personally I agree with the above. What is to stop the Indian fans from throwing something onto the pitch once they know their side has their noses in front. The game gets cancelled and they win.

It's also no use blaming just the subcontinent sides. Crowds all around the world are getting worse at this type of thing especially in one day matches. A couple of the games in Australia last season were disrupted by poor crowd behaviour. It is not just an Indian problem.

The ICC need to wield a big stick on this one. You know they won't though.

No it's not but if said crowd want their heroes to actually win a game, they'll keep quiet. All the players can do is appeal to the public to quiet down and hope they stick to it. If the crowd knew that their behaviour would influence the result of the game AGAINST their team, hopefully they'd shut up. I mean, why did they go to the game? To see their team win. If they were responsible for the team losing and were quite happy about it, why would they go at all?

Absolutely right. The MCG and SCG one-day matches have been interrupted by idiots for a long time.

Only problem is; what happens in a situation like what happened a few years ago where Ganguly was given out run-out but on the screen it looked in? Remember the crowd threw stuff on the field? They were obviously Indian fans but their behaviour could result in an abandonment of the game and the win to the opposition, if our idea were to be in effect.

That's a tricky one.

Yes its really pathetic by the Indian crowds. The ODI's shouldve been held in Hyderabad, Bangalore and Madras where Indian fans have common sense and are much more soft and gentle and intelligent about the game. Gujarat has turned into a hellhole at the moment.

On another note Lakshmipathy Balaji and Murali Kartik have been included into the squad instead of Ajit Agarkar and Anil Kumble.

Balaji is a awesome talent and will go a long way, and Kartik is a better option than Kumble.

No , whats awful is actually your ugly crowd, and those jerks are intererested in watching your batsmen in action, so DON"T BLAME OTHERS!

They are still better than Indian bowlers, and i'm being honest over here!

Forget Ajit and the Crowd, Watch out for Tamil Tiger!!

Indian selectors have finally decided to unleash the secret deadly weapon in "Lakshmipathy Balaji".The guy is a 21 year old genuine fast bowler who has done extremely well in domestic cricket. Now the guy is all set to shine at international level and give Indian cricket team the lean mean aggressive look.

So guys look out for Nov the 15th, Balaji is the guy that is gonna give the Indian bowling attack a new deadly look!

c'mon Chopra don't make Balaji that big a player. He has good pace but not great pace. He is a very good bowler but not that great as u make him out to be. But he really reverse swings the old ball.

As regards to the crowd trouble its only one or two rogues. They don't think whether is India winning or losing they just want to have fun and throw things when a fielder is fielding where they are. They abuse Indian players also not just others. Also there were crowd troubles in ENG and WI also. And i rememer once bevan was hit on the face. This is the 1 st its happ. after a long time( i think the last was in Asian Test Champ.) These things happ. and it will be sorted out.

I think the most disturbing thing about the current crowd situation is two fold....

1 = crowd misbehaviour in three ODI in a row in the same country is simply not good enough, no matter how big or small the disruptions or how long since it last occurred. Someone should have done something about it by now - if I was in the visiting team management I'd be tempted to ask for our ball back and leave, or at least to refuse to play any more matches until certain undertakings & assurances had been made (it's not just a safety issue, as highlighted in earlier posts if no action is taken against the so called rabble elements or against the team involved this could encourage other crowds to enter into disruption as a form of gamesmanship, or to 'ensure' a victory!!!!)

2 = the emphasis is starting to drift away from the cricket and this issue is generating more coverage than it deserves!!!!! The reputation of the Indian team is being tarnished by the disruptions, let alone their on field performances.

This behavior has been going on for decades & oversteps the bounds of passionate support and should not be tolerated by anyone. I wonder what the response would be if other nations started to talk of boycotting tours to India as a result?????

It is funny that so many nonindians on this thread are now talking of crowd behaviour !!! Well , so far none has been killed like they do in UK, Oz and other places in football and rugby. Nor did anyone ran in stripties !!!:baddevil:

I havent had a laugh as good as that until i watched AJIT AGARKAR bowl in the last 3 O.D.I's or most of his 2nd life ....
When they have People like Tinu Yohannan Avgin 25.36 with a strike rate of 28 only got 5 wickets who seems to be doing nice , give him more chances i say !!

After trying him out at test they forget about the dude... Murali Kartik hasnt impressed me that much Parida and that other off spinner do well in that game All India vs Railways game...

what do u know !!! The TORONTOMAN is now in oakland !!!! Promoting [like some other Pak fans] Muslim cricketers in India who have simply failed to produce. I wish they can advise the Pak cricket board which does not know the ends !!!:pig:

There are some reports circulating around that maybe the crowd trouble was engineered by bookies as a huge amount of money was put in for a WI win and when India looked like winning the match they decided to create trouble and stop the match.Only thing was that they had not thought of D-L coming into play.

Sounds a little far fetched....but who knows.
Considering that the trouble came at an unprecedented time i.e with India on top that is not incredible in any manner. Could be a possibility.
