just a question guys, before this series i had thoughts of batting Asim at three, and younis at 6, just seems Asim is one of the more assured, calm, simple players of the team, what do u think

I'm sure, if given a choice, Younis would have opted for 6, and not Asim, Younis being the senior member. If Younis picked 3 on his own and allowed the youngster the safer spot, then he's leading by example.

.. I rate him and Farhat about the same. Decent FC players but not internationa standard howevr I believe he did well against NZ in Pak.
He's certainly better than Farhat who seems to have no foot movement.

He hasn't been impressive lately but then again he performed better than Butt in the fisrt match so Pak were left with no choice than to have Afridi in , in place of Butt.

I think Butt should be given more chance though.

Another man I regard highly is Imran Nazir. He looked so solid when we saw him, and he did have a good ODI tour of Australia the previous time Pakistan went there for 3 ODI's.

By the way, what the hell is Ganguly in the team for? Two of the fours he hit in his innings of 14 were thick edges and I haven't forgotten his 76-ball 22 at Mohali. If this man has any dignity left in him, he will drop himself for Yuvraj.
I don't remember any cricketer in the world opting out of a match for a more deserving candidate, if i'm wrong please correct me on it.

Somewhere i read that the Ganguly's only contribution was winning the toss for India and reading the pitch correctly and thus opting for 2 spinners.

I think Pakistan made a big mistake by NOT going into the match with Arshad Khan and instead persisting with three pacers. This pitch is gonna break on 4th or 5th day and off spinner can play a vital role, even on the first day Kaneria was getting turn.Had Pakistan played Arshad Khan they might have actually restricted India to even a lessar score.

Pakistan need to take a bold move in the comming matches, they need to get rid of players who have been failing consistently. Its time for them to get rid of useless Sami.

BTW, maybe its coincedence that India lost 4 quick wkts yesterday when Inzi left the field and Younis Khan was skipping the side, but i was impressed by the way Younis was handling the team.

Nice to see Pakistan giving a little back to the Indians here. Still hard to see them winning the match, but a contest is nice.

Pathan was being claimed to be the "demolition man" for India in the Indo_pak series in media before the start of the series, he certainly has not lived up to the hype.

Even if they take a 50 runs lead (though i think they will concede a lead ) they might end up losing the match as i think the wkt will be difficult to bat in fourth innings and Pak batters will struggle against Indian spinners on a cracked pitch.
