No I dont, but always lived in Bombay

BTW, lemme ask u..kamal or malik (for test), and, why?

I prefer kamal..
First of all, I havent seen enough of Kamal though the little I saw was good.

However, I have seen a lot of Malik and whatever I saw convinced me that yeh lambi race ka ghoda hai, if you know what I mean. He has great temprament and game suited for the test scene. I would be reluctant to drop someone as good as him. I think he could walk into the Indian team and i dont think I can say that of Kamal, not yet.

But as I said at the outset, I havent seen enough of him, nor has the world, I guess.

Soem match practice. There has been no play since the last hour, and bad light has stopped play yet again.

I think you may be over-rating his bowling a tad there.
As many as 14 overs without a wicket are just dry weight. Besides, the bowlers will get tired and you'll see the effect of blunt spears thrown. Better to have a batsman bowling those overs instead- he'll be under a lot less pressure and the bowlers will be more relaxed. Nobody's a Muralitharan in this attack that he should go on bowling more than 30 overs, so a distribution of labour would work better. He's not a strike bowler, but just a stock/support bowler for the top four.

Hadlee talked about the 'drain effect'- after two fierce rivals play a match, even the one that wins loses the next match- to anybody. Whether the Indians win or lose, they should field a very different team from the PAK series for the next event- at least those players won't suffer from the drain effect.

I would like to see Kamal play the tests.

My team:

Butt
Hameed/taufeeq
Yoyo
Younis
Inzi
Kamal
Akmal
Sami
Rana
Arshad
Kaneria

6 Acomplished batsmen, 1 WK batsmen and four bowlers, 2 of which, can hold a bat.

Though if it isnt a spinners pitch, i'd prefer to see razzaq ahead of arshad.

I totally disagree. That's international cricket, and if a player or two goes on to make a ton in the first test, no matter how tired and drained they are, I'll bet a million dollars they'll be first in line to get out on the field in the 2nd match.

Choora, actually it seems that Pakistanis have almost given up on test macthes...the team in some manner but also the crowd. There was a recent study/interview etc I read on a Pak-deicated forum (not forum members, actual Pakistanis in Pak) and they are only/mostly interested in ODIs. Moresover, they are happy to beat India and dont care abt real cricket (Test) as long as afridi is hitting those sixes.

Wonder if all that has played a role on Pak test team, it would certainly seem so seeing their recent har-kari kinda batting, AND then u ask to compare KAMAL and MALIK!! gosh
You'll eat your words and be forced to eat humble pie when you're thrashed through out the test-series.

..I am not saying India cannot get thrashed, just mentioned what the thought process is
If u see any forum, u will see this feeling that Pak will do better in ODI series than TEST

There's usually an official thread for a reason.
I'll tell ya what, even if I mentioned here..there were many who would (or atleast ) started new threads asking for the TV rights, and infact I repsonded in many of those asking them to put it here. But in this case, since this thread moves so fast I thought it would be better to start a new thread as this was really getting into everyones nerves
