Well Indian BP are 79 for one, Kaif and co are hammering Pak bowlers with ease :D .

Pakistan are proving to be a no-challenge to even the second string side. With a brittle batting and crap bowling Pakistan simply don't stand a chance against Indian national team.

yes coz im sure sami and co r bending their backs to get these warm up wickets? and inzi and co were really trying to get them selves worn out b4 the 1st test sort ur self out..a warm up match is wot its sounds like 'warm up'... not sposed to go out to get centuries 2 days b4 the test match u would be far to tired to preform wen required. its abt spending a short time at the crease and getting used to playing in match situation again. as for getting hammered like i sed im sure sami and rana etc r bending their backs trying to pull sumthing b4 a test, whereas the second stringers r trying thier blessed little socks off to get noticed for a test place common sense seems to elude ppl sometimes...silly comments wait for the test to start im not saying pakistan will preform amazingly im just saying dont judge on warm ups its a very naive thing to do.

taufeeq umar and asim kamal r the only 2 players who need to try hard coz they r the only two with question marks over thier place, taufeeq did preform and so did asim although i prefer yasir hameed to taufeeq umar, and i prefer shoaib malik or afridi(i think its time to give him a chance in tests his leg spin troubles the most accomplished of batsmen with his faster ball coming down in the mid 80mph's) to asim kamal even if malik cant bowl yet...but anyway thats abt it

Afridi's quicker balls come down in the mid eighties?!?!? Why isn't he a fast bowler if he can bowl that fast on an amble run up, some sort of new age gary sobers. :D

I cannot say much about Balaji's bowling since I have not seen footage, but reports say he's a lot less diagonal and now attacks the stumps. That's a welcome cahnge, but he needs to pitch the ball further up. He still bowls a wide too many. Nehra bowled well in his first match and on the first innings of the next, but that ER is disappointing. Not to mention he bowled rubbish in the next innigns- this is something he needs to avoid if he should get more matches for India as a strike bowler. Bhajji's average in the match was disappointing (though 9 less than Nehra's) but he's returning to form.

The top four of the bowling attack may be a hot topic of discussion- which two play of Zaheer, Balaji, Nehra and Harbhajan, but the fifth bowler is also very important. If you keep bowling the same four bowlers repeatedly, not only will they get tired, but the opposition will get set easily against them. Three or four overs must be cut from each of them and go to the same man, mostly Sehwag. He should hold the ball back and pitch it fully, or slide it in straight. He's just supposed to bowl wicket-to-wicket.
Even though we are generally better off going with the 2-2 spin-pace combination, I think we should go with the 1-3 option in the 1st Test at Mohali because it is supposedly a "seaming" track. So perhaps Pathan, Khan, Balaji and Kumble, with Sehwag as the 5th option and 2nd spin option. Then, for the 2nd and 3rd Tests, we can go with Pathan, Kumble, Singh and either Khan or Balaji.

I just caught replays on DD Sport. The channel is a mess- they have no programme guide, no proper coverage facilities and Republic day extras as commentators. Nobody knew that the replays are being shown at night.

Still, Kaif played some elegant strokes on the off-side and used his wrists to tap the balls coming on the pads to the boundary. DS Jadhav was solid in defence an used the sweep well against Kaneria. Razzaq caned a few and got caned when he bowled, the ball coming on both sides of the wicket. Sami tried to blast the pitch and bowl some snorters, a strategy that didn't work so well. Jadhav deflected one snorter to the boundary.

Tough call
  • Dec 2001- Spinners got 19 wickets out of 30.
  • October/November 2003- Flat wicket, no bounce, no seam, no turn, no help
Either way, Sehwag must play as a fifth bowler, particularly if three seamers play.

Please tell Inzi not to bend it like Beckham or he'll break his back once again!

Batsmen are suppose to spend a longer time on wkt in practice match rather than shorter time. But anyway you will soon find out how good Pakistani bowlers and batsmen are when the real game gets underway!

Pakistan have a very little chance of avoiding a 3-0 whitewash!

I wrote this in Pak/Aus thread too, ASIM KAMAL should be 1st Name in the List when they are picking batsmen.

Heck, he could be a good one-day prospect too.

I find him really really good

i think its very immature to b calling sum1s opinion stupid. and statistics dont come into play here both malik and asim have played too few matches to b talking abt averages just yet. They both r talented players malik in my eyes should get the nod. oh i forgot my stupid opinion only of course :@ my team:

salman butt
yasir hameed
younis khan
inzimam-ul-haq
yousuf youhana
shoaib malik
abdul razzaq
kamran akmal
mohammad sami

as for a whitewash so much confidence comes across as arrogance and from here u seep arrogance, lets just wait for the matches, not saying of cors that we will win or anything just saying dont count ur chickens b4 they hatch. u never knw dravid and tendulkar may have a bad day pathan may get hammered...take care

Whatever it takes!!!
I think the weather in Dharamshala is very cold, I am not sure if the Pakistanis were used to that kind of weather, at the foot of the snow capped Himalayas........ That may have hampered them. I, for one, feel that India will win the test series, but I expect a better fight out of Pakistan than most others here are predicting. I am really glad that Sourav is giving the Pakistan side their due respect and is not taking them lightly.

..U telling me? Sorry I didn't know

Offocurse I have seen Malik, I am not denying his ability...but Asim is quality test player.

This is actually much like , picking yuvraj or laxman on current form.

Predicting what will happen in this series is a mug's game. Of course, India appear favourites but series between these two have always thrown up surprises and great contests.

Pakistan may spring a few surprises. I, for one, hope so but just enough to make it a very exciting contest, no more :p

Pakistanis have always been unpredictable and this side is no different. So watch out India and hope the best team wins ....
....and hope India is that team :D
