"Dravid and Tendulkar having a long chat", so where is Ganguly in this mix, he is on the field, right?

Inzamam semi-blocked the the penultimate ball and the one before that when a single was needed from three balls.

What is weirder is that Tendulkar had more than fielders on the boundry line even when a single was needed.

This wouldn't have changed if Dravid hadn't hurried forwards to him and held a pretty long team conference apparantly convincing tendulkar of the need of placing all the feilders inside the RING!

Inzy just drove it to the mid-off fielder on the second last ball, got a sinlge off the last ball.. (past point I think??)

That was seriously a weird situation.

I dunno what Inzamam was thinking during those last two balls. And tendulkar for that matter too!

Pakistan win, in weird circumstances.
Oh, phew. You nearly gave me a heart attack then, and i'm not even Pakistani! Amazing match, sets up the series perfectly now. No doubt Tendulkar will be blamed for this loss as well, for failing to defend the three runs off the last over. Never mind the century and the wicket...

He stole a four off the last ball - past point.

I nearly had a heart-attack myself. I think everyone, including the commentators, Pakistani team management, crowd, Mohammad Sami and even Ganguly were clueless as to what was happening.

Amazing finish. Inzy does the job in the end, but it probably shouldn't have been that hard. 3 off the last over isn't a difficult task for a top order batsman who is set at the crease facing a part-timer.

Hmm there seems to be a strange lull in the Ganguly bashing - especially considering that he scored a barnstorming 18 off 33 balls when both teams scored over a run a ball. Fielders on the boundary when 1 run is needed ?!? Madness.

Dont think you can have more than a certain amount of fiielders inside the ring?
As far as I am aware, there is no restriction on that. The restriction is on having players outside the ring.

Besides, if you wanted to cut off the singles and there IS a restriction, you could just put players one pace outside the circle and do the same job. The idea of having a restriction on the number outside is to increase the chance of boundaries, I don't think a restriction on the number inside would do anything at all except discourage attacking fields, which would be a terrible idea.

No, not rain.

The groundstaff watered the pitch yesterday evening. Apparantly they felt that if they hadn't done so, the wicket would have crumbled and fallen to pieces.

Was no one else following the game on T.V?

I am really interested in hearing what others think of the whole last over fiasco.

He's seriously losing the plot he is. Good to see Sachin back to his belligerent best. Sourav on the other hand has too much on his plate.

Congratulations to Pakistan though, well deserved victory. Another innings for Sachin where he didnt 'win the match' for India, but you know you cant blame him for that. Our bowlers were terrible (as usual).

Im now finding out why Sachin, despite his awesome batting efforts doesnt win any matches for India. It's because our bowlers are so damn pathetic.
