**Official** India v Pakistan

No, but 1 innings with no real pressure does not make an all-rounder when he's yet to get the bowling sorted out.

Erm, all-rounders have to able to bowl AND bat...

What exactly is his best though?
He has bowled well before and has the potential to be match winner with the bowl, something which greats like Akram and Waqar has acknowledge. And now he's starting to deliver with bat too!

His bowling has only been bad in this very series!

And i said that HE'S STARTING to become an allrounder, not yet but IKP is on his way

All right, its prediction time :) .

I feels that Pakistan will lose the next match to Mother India, this is coz i believe Pakistan will be under stress as they will be playing at Ahmadabad , a venue where they will be frightenend to play. The crowd's behaviour will always be in Pak players mind and i don't think they will be expecting a very warm welcome.

This is a must win match for India to win, if India do win it then i think India will win the series 5-1.

He scored useless 64 runs and gave away vital 67 runs!

Oh, even someone like Ajit (Not exactly an allrouner) can do better job with both bat and ball.

For the next match all i can say is that there should be some change for the sake of interest. The side winning the toss and opting to bat first should lose the match, that would be interesting.

My best wishes to Inzi for winning the toss :p

The Indian side need to make more changes in strategy than in selection (Balaji for an out-of-form Pathan- Baroda missed him, Gambhir for Yuvraj and frankly, Powar or JP Yadav for Ganguly), such as:
  • Get rid of this part-time nonsense. It is now hurting the Indian side as a bowling unit. Apart from the out-of-form Pathan (note the words: out of form), every other lead bowler performed rather well. The part-time combination gave away close to 8 runs an over, without a wicket. They were lucky in Kochi, they could go easy in Vizag, but when you need them most, they have failed badly.
  • The entire Indian batting side should take note of the TN side's performance in the Ranji OD series in Mumbai. They only scored 90 runs in boundaries, but yet, they made over 270 runs in 50 overs. They ran lots of singles and planned their innings well, nd even though none of them made big scores, the sum total of all contributions did count, as they won the match by 30 runs.
  • Harbhajan must attack the stumps more often. Forget about the odd four or six hit, if the next ball takes a wicket, it's not too bad, and with 3 wickets, it's a job well done.
  • Fielding in the inner ring must be tighter, but they have to have enough fielders there first.
  • Zaheer and Nehra should be played as strike bowlers, no less. Zaheer didn't go for too many in Keenan, and bowled well in the other two matches, averaging slightly under 28 with 4 wickets in 3 matches. Nehra deserves praise for using the variations in his bowling to good effect, particularly the short ball.

Please NOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!! No build, no technique, terrrible record against PAK, terrible form in the last few matches, this player's just dry weight in the side. As bad as an out-of-form Pathan, who should sit out of the rest of the series, and maybe the next one as well. He's not fully match-fit. Besides, the man's just raw material, an understudy, and not the finished product.

  • Thats intersting !! get Gambhir to open and bring in Yadav. Its not going to happen I know but it really is a good idea Arjun.

I would say even get back Kumble.

    Sehwag
    Gambhir
    Dravid
    Tendulkar
    Kaif
    Yadav
    Dhoni
    Kumble
    Zaheer
    Nehra
    Harbhajan

    Interesting line up.

Why Kumble? No doubt he's a more accomplished strike bowler than any other contender, but he's had a horrific 2004 ODI season- he averaged over 64. Besides, question marks may be raised over the fielding of Sehwag, Zaheer and Nehra, while Kumble's fielding is a thumbs-down!

Not so much JP Yadav, since Balaji's done rather well (although it's just two matches, averaging 32, and he had struggled for length), unless you want 4 seamers. Then again, the Kiwis played Scott Styris as a keeper-stand-up medium-pacer, coming in second-change, in more than a few matches.

Bahutule!

Bringing in Kumble doesn`t sound too bad to me.
WHY? He was never picked even when in prime form, in his younger years. He's got 42 rapid runs in the last match, and also 5 wickets, but does the team need him? His fielding isn't the best either. Tough ask. They have a younger but less seasoned alternative in Yusuf Pathan.

Agreed, except that the fielding is a bit weak. Two berserk hitters at the top of the order and two in the lower middle-order. Not too bad, though you can try one of Ramesh Powar, Rajesh Pawar or even Amit Mishra, which can improve the team's fielding. Kaif at three or four would be a good choice to score quickly. Maybe even get Yuvraj at five in place of Gambhir, getting Dhoni at the top.
