Afridi realy should not be opening, as we saw, pakistan struggled to really finish off at the end. With younis khan back in the team, shoaib malik should really be looking at opening. Shoaib can do everything when he's batting, he can defend, he can hit , he can take quick singles

Pak is one bowler short, they made a mistake when they dropped out Hafeez and brought in Younis who was batted at 7th slot where he couldn't do much.

I think the absence of a bowler will be felt badly.If Sehwag give India a flying start then the target might look smaller to Indian team

It was a disappointing finish. Still, a good enough total. A lot depends on how well Kaneria bowls and whether he is able to contain the Indian middle-order.

(Kudos to Zaheer Khan for using his brains in face of failing muscle power; the Pakistani bowlers can learn a lesson or two from Nehra's and Khan's bowling today)

I have a feeling that this pitch will really suite Sehwag. Pakistan bowlers, specially Sami, seeing that this wicket offers decent bounce will likely pitch a couple short every over and be smashed to the stands over square consistently.

Akmal's problem is that his physique and temprament are not suited for big-hitting. If they really want to go with an improviser at the top than Akmal is much better suited than Afridi. Akmal plays conventional cricket shots along the ground and can be expected to notch a run-a-ball 30 with comparatively lesser chance of dismissal due to a slog.

Afridi, on the other hand, is pure muscle. (and holds out in the circle much more than on the boundry, I have noticed)
