The Madras High Court on Thursday directed Prasar Bharati to telecast the upcoming Indo-Pak cricket series and gave the BCCI the freedom to engage any producer for the purpose of live feed except Zee Telefilms Ltd and ESPN Star Sports.

The interim order was delivered by Justice K P Sivasubramanian on a petition filed by Zee Telefilms challenging the BCCI's decision in September last year to cancel the tender process for telecasting rights for international cricket matches to be played in the country between October 1, 2004 and September 30, 2008.

The Judge also directed Prasar Bharati and BCCI to maintain accounts of all receipts of income and expenditure during the Indo-Pak series.

Justice Sivasubramanian had yesterday reserved orders on the Zee petition at the conclusion of lengthy arguments, but said he would deliver interim orders for arrangement for the telecast of the Indo-Pak series today.

I was just thinking, maybe for Pakistani fans it would be better if the matches aren't telecast live, i mean that way they would be spared from humiliation which they might suffer by watching their team being butchered at the hand of India .

PTV....Doordarshan....both are owned by the government....it's just as bad from either end, but with Doordarshan introducing unnecessary glamour and freebies in their coverage, they haev hit a new low. As for the analyses, they just talk trash! Grrr....."Let's NOT enjoy!"...the actress from that stupid movie is a host!

Imagine the scene. There is a bar near the bottom of the screen with interesting stats, and it's obscured by an advertisement!

If there is another thing I hate about DD Sport, apart from "Fourth Umpire", the ads and that it's a mess that shows how useless a certain ministry in the Government is, it's the indifference shown towards coverage of domestic matches in India. They rarely or never cover these matches, and when they do, they do such a bad job that it turns away the same fans who want to watch these matches! Otherwise, there are those replays of old gymnastics/swimming/athletics events from Central Europe!

For corn sakes....not Sony MAX! That's even worse than giving it to DD- you have to pay for that channel! Ten Sports would do a far better job, and so would Zee. Maybe they would produce the pictures and then relay them to DD.

as Tensport did it for the Aus SA series they where doing all the production work,camers,commen,equipments and every other thing related and DD will show it

Are you serious? Are you trying to say that the Pakistan side in late 70's and early 80 was weaker than this side?

IN late 70's and 80's Pakistani side had much better batsmen like Asif Iqbal,Zaheer Abbas,Mushtaq Mohd,Majid Khan,Miandad,Malik etc. The bowling attack also happened to be much better with Imran Khan, Sarfraz Nawaz and spinners like Iqbal Qasim,Abdul Qadir, Nazeer Junior etc

Before Imran came to Pak side, their fast bowling wasn't that strong and i guess only Sarfraz was a good bowler(was better than any pacer in the current pak side) but their spinners used to be quiet good and their batting used to be their strong point in those days.

Irfan Pathan and Balaji haven't taken a 100 test wickets either and didn't both them end up leaving Pakistan last year with 12 wickets from the test series? Even Zaks has only 101 test wickets so I'm sorry to say that your statement doesn't make much sense. You're doing the same thing the Pakistanis did to us last year when they underestimated our bowling attack due to inexperience. All I have to say is that it's gonna bite you in the rear end if you don't watch your mouth.
