Getting to 250 from 120/6 is a pretty decent comeback. It's probably still woefully under par though. Rahane and Rahul deserve to be sacked if they fail in the second innings, been given more than enough chances. **** it, bring in Dhawan and Vihari.
Good news is that it seems Shaw is recovering quickly and is in with a good chance to play the second test.

Bring back Mohammad Kaif IMO

Don't really think we have any solutions. Our most talented batsmen right now also can't seem to grind out runs. I think cricket in India at the moment doesn't produce players who are good at adapting and grinding. Pujara is such a rare gift.

Don't think I need to pile on Rohit, and I hope he recovers from his ego issues before turning 50.

It very definitely is well under par. Haven't watched most of it except for the last bit; from what I've seen, the Indian bowlers are going to struggle big time on this wicket.

We went into this game with Rahul, Vijay, Rahane, and Sharma. 4 batsmen who have inspired no confidence, who have all been dropped for not performing in recent years. The writing was on the wall all along.

Won't know if it is a par score until after Australia bat. 1 in 3 innings we seem to resurrect battle of the failures innings thread. I have no faith in this batting lineup to score enough to make it tough on India, even in Australian conditions. I'm hoping my pessimism is proven wrong.

Australia need to bat for two days to make it difficult for India to win. Two days!

Not much happens in Adelaide tbf.

I think they said about 20k in. Not bad for a work and school day in 40 degrees against an outfit that loses a leg when they tour here.

Also not sure if there’s as big an expat Indian community in Adelaide as Sydney and Melbourne.
Definitely not.

How does a 6'4" unit like Cummins rip out a run-out like that? Bloke can do anything. Outrageous.

Australia's bowling was great and the pitch offered something but I think India's early batsmen did gift their wickets. Its true that tight bowling can produce the loose shot but Pujara showed the way to play the bowling today. I don't really understand the idea that you have to dominate a side by trying to blast them off the park in the first session. I remember when Brad Haddin was young and dumb he used to play that way and often failed. India's early intent provided wickets to Australia, a run rate that fell below 2 and Australia ascendant. Ironically it made a necessity of the type of innings Pujara played and that the team should have played from the beginning. Anyway great knock from Chet, fine bowling by Australia an wow that run out.

Nah it's not him. Was head commentator in the ODI's

EDIT: Very high-pitched I meant not nasally

Was the guy commentating when Kohli was dismissed
Mark Howard? He was one of the BBL commentators for Ten before so we're well-accustomed to his particular voice.

Yeah I have no idea why Fox have Howard as one of its main commentators. Least it’s not Healy/Lee.

You get the feeling that NZ are 40 runs away from being all out if this parrnership is broken. KW key.

Things seem to have proceeded as expected. Poor Haze. That was a very loud nick. Excellent knock from Pujara nonetheless. Which ton was better?

Had two dropped catches and created a lot of half chances tbf. This ain’t chennai, it doesn’t rip square day one. He bowled well. Pujara played him beautifully though

Well he can't always expect to be gifted wickets. Happy with his figures. Would prefer if spin played as little a role as possible this series.
