Hang on, what's happening here? I thought it was only the Australian batting that was depleted by the bans and that the bowling available to them is still first choice? Why is the "best bowling lineup in the world" struggling so much, and that too at home?
No reverse swing either, and they had plenty of it just last year in the Ashes. Starc was getting reverse as late as the Durban test earlier this year, why has it deserted him all of a sudden? Very strange indeed considering that only the banned trio were involved in the sandpaper incident and absolutely no one else in the team, 'oh no' and that it was also a one off and only the first time the Australians even considered it.
The Aussies have according to their own accounts gotten reverse swing plenty of times, so why are they not getting any now? Especially with their top of the line pace attack? A completely baffling mystery, indeed.
Oh well, they've pretty much gifted India their first series win in Australia, so they'v picked a fine time to lose that reverse. Hopefully they can withstand the might of Lanka better in a month or so.
