No subcontinental team has won a test series in Australia. India has never won more than one test in a series in AustraliA except 1977.

In my 22+ years of watching Indian cricket, if there has been a constant, it has been India's inability to get the tail out cheaply, no matter how quickly the top order falls. And it seems to be getting worse with time. It was a similar nightmare on their tours to SA and England this year. The latter in particular pretty much cost them the series. It's all further exasperated by the fact that India's own tail is so incompetent. The opposition's lower order consistently scores 50+ more runs than India's does. Just a major competitive disadvantage any time they take the field.
