Lehmann hardly gave Maxi a fair shake either. But I can't see Langer even giving Maxwell a test. Probably has a secret grudge against successful white ball batsmen
maxwell should have played more tests but "replace one batsmen averaging high 30s/low 40s with another batsman averaging high 30s/low 40s" is not exactly the panacea we need

it was like that when he was captain too. really believed that the rankings were something everyone cared about.
Wouldn't have surprised me if the team's rankings was part of his contract, like he got some kind of a bonus

The bigger question is: why are your best domestic performers averaging merely 40 at best with a handful of tons when Mike Hussey had to wait until he was over 30 to get a look in, having scored like 20 tons averaging 50+?
TBF Hussey’s Shield average barely was over 40 too, he just could double dip and average 70 at county level.

Take Kohli and Pujara out and the remaining India would still roll a full strength Australia out 3-0 or 4-0 after loosing every toss unless the match is played on a lottery pitch like Pune. Loosing a home test series is weak no matter the circumstances unless you lose an almost certain victory by rain.
